Coacting With Diverse Apparatus Elements Patents (Class 425/226)
  • Patent number: 11840006
Abstract: A flow head and a method for use with a blow molding apparatus. The flow head includes a flow head housing with a material flow cavity. The flow head housing includes a movable die pin mechanism which is moveable between an open position and a closed position. A main melt pipe is connected to the material flow cavity. The main melt pipe is maintained at a first temperature. A shot chamber mechanism is connected to the material flow cavity. The shot chamber mechanism is maintained at a second temperature, which is lower than the first temperature. Thermoplastic material is formed into a parison for the blow molding apparatus. As the movable die pin mechanism is positioned in the closed position, the thermoplastic material is moved to the shot chamber to prevent degradation of the thermoplastic material.

Abstract: A system is proposed for encapsulating in plastics material leadframe items comprising an IC wired to a leadframe. Dust of the plastics material is removed from the encapsulation system, and in particular from those items where dust principally accumulates, such as the surfaces of the moulds. To reduce the level of dust which enters the moulding region, the path along which the leadframe items are conveyed to the moulding region is closed at times when the leadframe items are not being transported there. Additionally, the leadframe items are conveyed to the moulding region under a cover including a vacuum source, so that the dust is continually sucked away from them.

Abstract: Apparatus for molding blocks with laterally projecting, undercut side features includes a mold box having split mold parts defining a mold cavity open at the top and bottom. A top plate overlies the mold parts and is formed with an opening aligned with a cavity. Moldable block material is charged into the cavity from a feed box, and the material is compacted and shaped between a lower pallet and upper stripper head which are moved to close the bottom and top of the cavity during vibration of the mold. The mold parts are retractable beneath the top plate to release the block for stripping through the bottom of a mold. A plurality of fluid outlets in the top plate communicate with problem areas of the recessed mold parts which are prone to accumulate residual block material. Pressurized clean-out fluid, such as air is directed through the outlets onto such problem areas to cleanse the mold surfaces of the block material between mold cycles.

Abstract: The injection molding machine comprises the closing mechanism 5 having the nozzle touch member 3 to close the tip opening 1a of the nozzle 1 and the electric heater 6 to regulate the temperature of the nozzle touch member 3. The closing member 5 is constituted in such a manner as the arm 13 is pivotally supported on the jacket cover 11 mounted on the nozzle 1, the cylinder 7 is mounted on mounting member 14 provided at the tip of the arm 13, and the nozzle touch member 3 is supported at the tip of the piston rod 7a. The electric heater 6 is arranged around the nozzle touch member 3. When the arm 13 is rotated from the retreated position R to the closed position C by the actuation of the rotor 8, the nozzle touch member 3 is faced to the tip opening 1a of the nozzle 1, and by extending the cylinder 7, the nozzle touch member 3 regulated to the temperature suitable for the resin material by the electric heater 6 closes the tip opening 1a from its front surface.

Abstract: In an injection molding machine, a fixed platen 2 is provided with an air cylinder 11 through a bracket 13 and a nozzle touch plate 10 is coupled to an end of a piston rod 12 of the air cylinder 11. The piston rod 12 is extendably and contractedly driven so that the nozzle touch plate 10 is moved forward and backward between a closed position where the tip opening 9a of the nozzle 9 can be closed and a retreated position where the opening 9a can be opened. On the nozzle touch plate 10, a spherical recess portion slightly larger in radius than the tip sphere of the nozzle 9 is formed as an abutment portion 10a, and a heater 14 for adjusting the temperature is disposed in the nozzle touch plate 10. Alternatively, a passage may be formed in the nozzle touch plate 10 so that a medium of an optimum temperature can be circulated and supplied.

Abstract: Clogging and prolonged down times are avoided in a pelletizer for paste type materials such as sludge by providing an extruder hopper with at least one, preferably two, lower edge slide gates which can be opened to permit movement of a clogged screen zone out of alignment with the discharge opening of the hopper. The clogging material can be scraped off from the screen portion that is taken out of alignment with the hopper discharge opening. The cutting of the extruded sludge is accomplished by an oscillating lower screen section that slides back and forth below the upper screen section. The upper screen section is provided with two, preferably three zones, two of which are perforated and one of which is unperforated to form a closure for the hopper discharge opening. Screeding non-pelletizable material off the screen surface is accomplished either by a separate screeding device or by operating the slide gate or gates as screeds.
