Including Stripper Means Patents (Class 425/274)
  • Patent number: 11213978
Abstract: A glove stripping apparatus (15) for fully stripping a partially stripped elastomeric dip-moulded glove (2) from a hand-shaped dip-moulding former (4) comprises a gripping device (25) relatively movable with respect to a downwardly hanging cuff end portion (10), a gripping actuator (32), a stripping actuator (35) and a controller for controlling the operation of the actuators. The relative movement of the gripping device and the downwardly hanging cuff end portion is driven by the stripping actuator. The gripping device has first and second gripping members (24, 26) movable relative to each other by the gripping actuator. The gripping members provide opposed gripping surfaces (34, 36) for gripping the cuff end portion. The first gripping member and the second gripping member initially provide a horizontally extending gap between the gripping surfaces which receives the cuff end portion.

  • Patent number: 6126880
Abstract: A plunger tool for producing a special prophylactic is disclosed. The special features of the plunger tool reside in the special curvatures in its shaped section. The shaped section of the plunger tool exhibits an extreme narrowing, at the deepest point of which there may be at least one annular groove. Unlike prior art transitions, the transition from the large diameter to the reservoir section is not steep and straight but takes the form of an S-shaped curve. An exact contour of the annular grooves on the surface of the plunger tool is essential for their production and can be done only by the use of a precision diamond abrasive point.

  • Patent number: 5909800
Abstract: A film article release machine has two drive wheels, a conveyer chain surrounds the drive wheels and is driven by the drive wheels, and a plurality of release devices disposed on the conveyer chain. A guide plate is disposed above the conveyer chain. A main chain is disposed above the guide plate. A plurality of hand-shaped molds are disposed on the main chain. Each hand-shaped mold is dipped into a raw material solution such as a PVC solution. After the hand-shaped mold is dried, a film article is formed. A rolling wheel is connected to each hand-shaped mold. A brush wheel brushes the film article to roll up a portion of the film article to form a roll-up portion. Then the film article is blown by a blowing pipe to blow the roll-up portion of the film article to the original position. The release devices clamp the film articles and release the film articles from the hand-shaped molds.

  • Patent number: 5776520
Abstract: An automatic glove stripping machine is disclosed comprising a drive unit that distributes power to one or more stripping assemblies, each comprising a conveyor unit, a plurality of dipping molds, a pressurized air distribution system, a brush set, a plurality of grip assemblies, and a cam assembly. Each grip assembly is moved into engagement with a set of dipping molds retaining dip molded articles such as latex gloves. As each grip assembly and corresponding set of dipping molds travel over the stripping assembly, the molded articles on the dipping molds are partially removed by action of the grip assembly and a stream of pressurized air directed at each mold. As the set of dipping molds reaches the end of the stripping assembly, the molded articles are completely removed from their dipping molds by the brush set.

  • Patent number: 5750157
Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing pharmaceutical capsules uses an aqueous solution of a thermogelling cellulose ether composition, and uses capsule body pins and capsule cap pins as molds. The apparatus heats the pins, dips the pins into the solution to cause the solution to gelatinize on the surface of the pins, and dries the gelatinized solution on the surface of the pins to form capsule bodies and caps. The apparatus provides differential heating and supplemental heating of the pins before dipping, and directed radiant heating after dipping. The apparatus provides counterflow air for drying. The apparatus removes parts from pins by gripping. The pins are smaller than pins used to make gelatin capsules of the same size number.

  • Patent number: 5032074
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing capsules which causes a solution of thermo-gelling material to gelatinize, and then drys the gel, whereby the process of manufacturing capsules is less affected by drying conditions, thus providing capsules of uniform wall thickness without wrinkles. In the apparatus of this invention, circulating capsule pins are dipped in the solution of thermo-gelling material, thus the solution adheres to the pins, and, the pins are rotated upside down, thus thickness of the solution adhering to the pins becomes uniform. Then, the pins are retained in the vessel maintained at a higher temperature than the gelling temperature of the solution, and the solution adhering to the pins is accelerated to gelatinization. The formed gel is dried in a drying device, and the dried gel bodies, i.e. capsules, are removed from the capsule pins.

  • Patent number: 4993935
Abstract: A mechanism for producing the bead on a rubber article made by a dipping process first loosens the rubber film on the form using a pair of looseners in the form of roller brushes which contact the lower portion of each form as the forms are moving along on the form carriage. As the forms move along on the form carriage, the looseners move in the same direction as the form carriage but at a different speed, so that the roller brushes roll around the entire circumference of the lower portion of each form to thoroughly loosen the edge of the rubber film from the form. Following the loosening operation, the beads are formed by a separate bead roller mechanism which provides a bead of predetermined dimensions by rolling up the edge of the film a predetermined amount. The bead rolling operation is accomplished by a pair of roller brushes which are mounted diagonally with respect to the direction of travel of the form carriage.

  • Patent number: 4943225
Abstract: A one-piece mandrel for making elastomeric articles by a dipping process has a one-piece body which includes at least one opening extending therethrough. A split extends from the opening through a cross-section of the one-piece body. At least a portion of the body adjacent the split is formed of an elastically resilient material to allow the split to open for removal of the elastomeric article after formation, and to cause the split to self-close after removal of the article from the mandrel. Closure of the split forms a substantially continuous molding surface in the immediate vicinity of the split. Proper alignment of the mating surfaces of the split is assured by irregular (non-linear) design of the split surfaces, or by use of an alignment element embedded in the mandrel. An especially advantageous material for forming the mandrel of the present invention is a silicon rubber molding compound.
