Cutters Downstream Of Former Patents (Class 425/307)
  • Patent number: 3986807
Abstract: A plurality of molds, each consisting of a pair of relatively movable mold halves, are mounted on a turntable equidistant from the center of turntable rotation, and are moved successively through a receiving sector where they engage and grip a workpiece such as a heated tube fed tangentially to the circular path of movement of the molds. Positioning pillars located on each side of a workpiece cutting device mounted between adjacent molds, engage the workpiece and correct the attitude thereof relative to each receiving mold and to each cutting device, which also is equipped with means for gripping the cut ends of the workpiece when each mold is opened at the end of the molding cycle.

  • Patent number: 3982868
Abstract: An apparatus for the continuous forming of molded plastic sheet from granular thermoplastic materials directly from granular thermoplastic material by plasticizing the granular material through a blender and an extruder, thence passing such material through a pair of roller dies to form a sheet of material that is fed directly to a continuously moving conveyor belt where the sheet is vacuum formed, thence trimmed and cut to size.

  • Patent number: 3976417
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for producing ceramic tiles with ornamental shapes from clay emerging from an extrusion press. Shaped punching tools are disposed on either side of the clay column from which the tiles are to be formed, and are moved on a carriage in the direction of the moving column at a speed corresponding to the speed of the moving column. Supports hold the clay while it is being punched. A drive system such as a fluid actuated drive system moves the punching tools, and the drive system is selectively actuated in response to movement of the carriage. Cutting wires sever each column section acted upon by the punching tools from the rest of the column.
