Publication number: 20020109265Abstract: The process produces concrete blocks with different thicknesses of the core concrete and facing concrete in a single mold. To change the height of the core concrete layer and the facing concrete layer, the vertically movable bottom parts of the multichamber mold are first moved into the first vertical position. After the mold is filled with the core concrete the bottom parts together with the core concrete and the lowered pressure plates are moved down into the second vertical position for precompaction. After precompaction, the pressure plates are raised and the mold cavities are filled with the facing concrete. For subsequent finish-compaction the two concrete layers together with the bottom parts and the pressure plates are moved down until the top edge of the bottom parts is at the same height with the bottom edge of the mold. After finish-compaction the bottom parts are moved horizontally to the outside under the mold and finished concrete block is removed from the mold.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2001Publication date: August 15, 2002Inventors: Rudolf Braungardt, Erwin Schmucker

Patent number: 5478225Abstract: A tool set type powder compacting press is proposed which is simple in construction and reliable. The driving shafts coupled through coupling shafts with the tool holding plates, that is, the punch plates are provided at the press side. Further, coupling mechanisms having removable joints are provided between the driving shafts and the punch plates. No driving device is provided at the tool set side. Since the driving mechanisms are integrated at the press side, the whole arrangement will have a simple construction. This will also increase the reliability.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1994Date of Patent: December 26, 1995Assignees: Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., Kohtaki Precision Machine Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kenji Takeuchi, Yoshiaki Horie, Hiromoto Sei

Patent number: 5474726Abstract: An interlocking checker brick used to form a checkerwork for use in recovering heat in thermal regenerators and recuperators. The checker brick is made of a refractory material and is of a generally trapezoidal shape with each side wall having at least a section forming an acute angle with respect to the base. The preferred brick has spaced side walls each of which includes top and bottom sections adjacent to and perpendicular to top and bottom surfaces respectively. Each side wall also includes a central section flaring outwardly and downwardly from its top to its bottom section. Checkerworks utilizing these bricks increase turbulence while reducing laminar flow during alternating cycles of flowing gases and air.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1994Date of Patent: December 12, 1995Assignee: North American Refractories CompanyInventor: Jack Hyde

Patent number: 5364253Abstract: A magnetic circuit component molding device for integrally molding a compound a center yoke with a ring-shaped magnet includes top and bottom press vertically arranged at opposed positions. A ring-shaped magnet is place on a bottom die between top and bottom press. The top and bottom press compress the compound against the ring-shaped magnet ring with a vertical pressure. A holder unit, separated in plural segments, having tapered outer circumferences is provided around the ring-shaped. A holder presser having a tapered inner circumference is mounted on the holder unit as tapered portions thereof are engaged together. A portion of the vertical pressure, when the top press compresses the compound, is transferred by springs 10 to the holder presser, and is amplified by the tapered portions and applied to the outer circumference surface of the ring-shaped magnet by the holder unit.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1993Date of Patent: November 15, 1994Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kiyoshi Kojima, Kazuyoshi Amami, Hiroshi Ueda, Shizuo Furuyama, Yoshihiro Hara, Kyoichi Hasegawa, Tadashi Kawamata
