Abstract: A take-off apparatus for plastic blown sheet that is collapsed has a deflecting roller rotatably mounted for transporting the blown sheet and an air turning bar for receiving the blown sheet from the deflecting bar along a transport plane defined therebetween. The blown sheet passes around a peripheral portion of the air turning bar thereby defining a support arc region of the at least one air turning bar about which the blown sheet is supported. The air turning bar has air outlet openings disposed in the support arc region through which compressed air is ejected to support the blown sheet. The air turning bar has an arc-shaped axis defining a plane of curvature which is oriented such that the peripheral portion presents a concave surface in which the air outlet openings are disposed and which opposes the blown sheet.

  • Patent number: 6383442
Abstract: An apparatus for injection molding or forming of work pieces, including closed profile work pieces, is provided that is less expensive and requires less space than known press apparatus. The apparatus locks a molding tool assembled from two or more tool pieces to define the shape of a molded or formed product using a frame, and one or more presses. The frame defines an interior space extending from a first end of the frame to an opposed second end of the frame for receiving a molding tool. The presses are placed within the frame and act in concert with the frame to apply pressure to a molding tool. The interior space is large enough to receive an assembled molding tool into the interior space of the frame, while not permitting removal of the tool pieces from the product within the interior space.

Abstract: To make holes in ceramic green sheets that are needed to create feedthroughs, it is proposed to make the holes by using a gas that is under a higher pressure than atmospheric pressure and that is expelled in a pulsed manner from a pressure vessel and thereby acts on a principal surface of a ceramic green sheet, at at least one location at which a hole is to be made, in such a way that material is shot out of the ceramic green sheet at that location. This eliminates the disadvantages associated with the use of punches to punch holes.

Abstract: A new plastic tandem extrusion sizer mold and its manufacture method. The mold includes an inlet plate, middle plates and an outlet plate which are connected with each other in series by columniform pin, and then side baffles are added to mount on a base with the aid of bolts. In the manufacture method, a rectangular inlet plate, middle plates and outlet plate, which constitute a cavity of different shape, are placed upright and connected together in sequence and in series. Compared with the conventional sizer mold, the present sizer mold gets over the limitations of cavity parting, machining deep holes, cutting gas slots, trivial design and complex manufacture process, and has a shortened design period and simplified technological process, and can be manufactured rapidly.

Abstract: A device for improving the possibilities of process control in blown film manufacture is described. In blown film manufacture, the plastic material is extruded in the form of a tube from a slot die and is pulled off while maintaining an internal pressure in the tube as it cools during chemical formation of the film material. According to the invention, the film tube is flushed on all sides in this cooling area with an air stream that has been conditioned in terms of temperature and air purity, and this flushing air stream, in turn, is shielded against outside influence by a partition surrounding the area. Preferably, the flushing air stream is divided into a number of partial air streams.
