  • Patent number: 10614509
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for collaborative and cognitive multi-outlet food order placement and recommendation are provided herein. A computer-implemented method includes calculating a minimum waiting time required for delivery of a group of items from a multi-outlet food order to one or more users at approximately the same time, wherein the multi-outlet food order was submitted by the users via one or more user devices, and wherein the group of items belong to a shared food order category; deriving food order parameters based on (i) past order patterns attributed to the users, and (ii) existing commitments of outlets included in the multi-outlet food order; generating a recommendation for modifying the multi-outlet food order based on (i) the calculated minimum waiting time and (ii) the food order parameters; and outputting the recommendation to the one or more user devices.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a computer-based system for managing just-in-time preparation and delivery of food products. In the system, customers can build, place, and pay for their order. Once the order is placed, the system will track the users location, only starting to prepare their food when the customer is within a specific proximity to the retail location. The proximity will be dynamic and expand and contract with the customer's movements. Finally, the system will coordinate the preparation, assembly and packaging of the order to provide just-in-time delivery of the customer's order, thereby reducing food waste and enhancing the freshness and taste of the product delivered to improve the customer experience.

Abstract: A rod 3 is driven forward to open an annular slit 5 between a die 2 and a mandrel 4 and the molten resin in a resin accumulation chamber 10 is expelled from annular slit 5 to form a parison. In this operation, the die 2 is displaced from an original position adjoining to the mandrel 4 (axially aligned position) upon opening of the annular slit 5 to correct for any variation in thickness of parison P to be extruded from the annular slit 5. Then, the molten resin accumulated in accumulation chamber 10 is expelled from annular slit 5 to form parison P. The die 2 is then reset to the original position to bring the die 2 and mandrel 4 into axial alignment. Therefore, as the rod 3 is driven back, the annular slit 5 can be closed tight by the mandrel 4 to prevent resin leakage. After closure of the annular slit 5, molten resin is accumulated again in the accumulation chamber 10 and the annular slit 5 is opened. This procedure is repeated to produce parisons on an intermittent basis.

  • Patent number: 5571470
Abstract: A very thin inner layer composed of a polymer chosen for its barrier and/or inertness properties is fabricated within a container preform constructed mainly from another polymer, or a structure of polymers. The inner layer on the preform is produced either by a controlled coating method involving coating of the injection mold core rod prior to injection molding or by a coating applied directly to the preform after injection molding. This enables both inner and main layers to be brought together at a time when the interface between them is molten. A tie layer can be employed, when desirable, to enable the layers to be combined without melting the layer interface.

  • Patent number: 5540878
Abstract: A blow molded multilayer plastic article having a large number of layers is formed. First and second diverse thermoplastic streams are extruded into a coextrusion feedblock. In the feedblock the streams are divided into multiple streams and arranged into a first composite stream having a substantially uniform distribution of the layers. The first stream is fed into an interfacial surface generator in which the stream is manipulated to form a second composite stream having even more layers of substantially uniform thickness. This second stream is then formed into a preform such as by injection molding and this preform is blow molded. The second composite stream and preform are formed so that the layers of first and second materials lie generally parallel to a critical surface and possess substantial uniformity when blow molded.

  • Patent number: 5256051
Abstract: The invention relates to a storage head for a blow moulding machine for discontinuous manufacture of multi-layer co-extruded and blow-moulded hollow bodies made of thermoplastic. To improve the product quality and to increase the throughput, each distributor element is designed as a spiral channel distributor (20) which distributes the individual molten plastic streams uniformly at the periphery. The ejector (14) consists of at least two concentric tubular pieces (42, 44, 46) and the peripherally distributed plastic streams issue from the front face of the ejector (14) and unite to form a single multi-layer flexible plastic tube in the storage space (16) in the storage head housing (10) below the ejector.

  • Patent number: 5206032
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a preform for the manufacture of a hollow body from thermoplastic material by extrusion blow molding has an extrusion head with a material-storage chamber which can be emptied by a piston to produce the preform. At its peripheral surface the piston has a groove-like recess providing a receiving passage which extends parallel to the direction of movement of the piston, for receiving plasticized material from the extruder connected to the extrusion head. Communicating with each of the two end regions of the receiving passage are respective duct systems through which respective flow portions of material from the extruder flow to the storage chamber.

  • Patent number: 5186875
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a multi-layer hollow article which consists of extruding a multi-layer parison having at least a chief resin layer, a sub resin (barrier) layer, and an adhesive resin layer located between the chief resin layer and the sub resin layer. The adhesive resin layer is made of the same essential material as the chief resin material and of the same quality. The sub resin layer is cut off by the use of a raised extrusion pressure of the adhesive resin when the multi-layer parison has been extruded a predetermined length. The parison is received in a mold so that the cut off sub resin (barrier) layer lies within the mold below pinch offs. Flash is produced as a result of the molding. The flash consists of the chief resin material or the chief resin material and the adhesive resin material. The flash is recycled as part of the chief resin material. Collecting a flash of a hollow article made by a blow molding and rebirthing the flash a rebirth chief resin material.
