With Transportation Device For Relocating Molding Apparatus To Different Site (e.g., Land Vehicle, Etc.) Patents (Class 425/62)
  • Patent number: 4379683
Abstract: Apparatus for forming, compacting and finishing the top surface of concrete poured between a pair of removable longitudinally extending parallel opposed forms. The apparatus, which is self-propelled, travels along the tops of the forms. A heavy wooden vibrator member disposed at the forward end of the apparatus may be shaped so that concrete beneath the vibrator is formed and compacted to a depth which varies along transverse axes of the forms. The structural members of the apparatus may be interchanged or adjusted to adapt the apparatus for use with forms of arbitrary spacing. Simple adjustments may also be made to permit the apparatus to traverse forms of unequal height. Removable "skirts" enable use of the apparatus with relatively narrow forms supported above the grade on which the concrete segment is formed--the skirts serve as a "travelling form" to prevent poured concrete formed and compacted by the vibrator spilling beneath the forms.

  • Patent number: 4287141
Abstract: An apparatus for forming embankments comprising a trapezium-shaped shield open at top and bottom and rearwardly. Material for the embankment is introduced into the top of the shield in slurry form and the difference in level between the slurry contained by the shield and the water outside the shield results in a force on the end wall of the shield. This causes the shield to travel end-wall first along the surface on which it is supported. As it moves forward, the shield will leave behind it an embankment formed to the same trapezium-shape as the shield itself. So that a layered form of embankment may be constructed, the shield may be fitted with a number of hoppers each associated with the formation of a particular layer.

A typical technological cycle starts with erecting a cross wall panel on an incomplete room unit. For this purpose the form-stripper rotates into vertical position, the machine moves close to the room unit, and the panel is released with a bottom hinged lock bracket. After the panel is fixed, the room unit, having been on the trailer, is ready for transportation to the job site.
