Abstract: There is provided a method of manufacturing a hollow structural member suitable for precisely manufacturing a hollow structural member whose pitch space of the hollows is below 30 ?m. The method of manufacturing a hollow structural member of this invention is to encapsulate, by using a gas-permeable material in part of a material that constitutes the substrate (5) for manufacturing the hollow structural member, a high-pressure gas by injection in advance, under high-pressure conditions, into the gas-permeable material; to form a plastic deformation film (10) on a surface under reduced-pressure conditions; and to expand and draw the plastic deformation film (10), while preventing the plastic deformation material from entering the recesses (5b), by discharging the high-pressure gas that is encapsulated in the gas-permeable material into each of the recesses (5b), whereby the hollow structural member is manufactured.

Abstract: This invention provides a method of producing chitosan non-woven fabrics and an apparatus thereof. At first, a chitosan acidic solution is extruded to form a chitosan fibrous stream. Then, a solidifying agent is ejected to form a solidifying agent stream. The solidifying agent stream and the chitosan fibrous stream are combined to form a pre-solidified chitosan fiber. Then, high-pressure air is ejected on the pre-solidified chitosan fiber to stretch the pre-solidified chitosan fiber. Finally, the chitosan fibers are collected to form chitosan non-woven fabrics.

Abstract: A molding method for a resin product having a thick portion projecting outwardly on a rear surface of the resin product includes: a first step for supplying a melted resin into a cavity of a die by an amount which is less than a volume of the cavity. The cavity has a surface side cavity surface corresponding to a surface of the resin product and a rear surface side cavity surface corresponding to the rear surface of the resin product. The molding method further includes: a second step for supplying a gas from the rear surface side cavity surface of the cavity into the cavity, so that the melted resin is separated from the rear surface side cavity surface of the cavity and closely contacts the surface side cavity surface of the cavity; and a third step for solidifying the melted resin maintained in the condition set in the second step.

Abstract: An air ring with increased-control over the gauge uniformity of blown plastic film in a film extrusion device. The air ring includes a generally annular plenum, an annular orifice for discharging cooling air against an extruded plastic tube passing through the air ring, and a flow path for cooling air between the plenum and the annular orifice. The air flow path is segmented along a circumference of the annular plenum, the segments including a material with high heat conductivity and guiding the air from the annular plenum to the orifice. Heating elements are provided for individually and selectively heating the segments of the air flow path such that the temperature of the cooling air discharge against the extruded plastic tube can be locally varied.

The apparatus includes an inlet passage adapted to direct cooling air through the extrusion die to the interior of the plastic film tube. The apparatus includes at least one air dispensing device coupled to the inlet passage. The air dispensing device is configured to receive the cooling air and to direct a flow of the cooling air out of the air dispensing device in an approximately circumferential or tangential direction.
