Abstract: An improved process is provided for treating skinned peanuts with an edible powder. In the improved process, peanuts including those peanuts which have split into halves are rotated relative to each other while associated with a substantially dry edible powder until the flat faces of half peanuts have an edible powder adhering thereto and two half peanuts become bonded together face to face to form a whole peanut. A tumbler having a drum disposed to rotate about a substantially horizontal axis and having a roughened interior surface is preferably used for rotating the peanuts.
Abstract: A dry, free-flowing beverage mix and a process for its preparation are described. The method of preparation comprises coating the particles of a food acid with a desiccating agent and then mixing the coated food acid particles with a saccharide material and other dry beverage mix ingredients.
Abstract: A batter mix for covering food products, so that bread crumbs will adhere to the food product to form a coating, said mix comprising starch, derived from corn or other grains having the genetic composition fl.sub.1 fl.sub.1, and water. The starch in the batter mix may also have been treated with mild oxidizing agents.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing dehydrated fruit used as an additive to powdered instant food which comprises covering preliminarily dried fruit with granulated sugar, flattening the fruit under pressure and dehydrating it until the dissolved sugar again solidifies.
