    Abstract: A process for protecting a plastic substrate from ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation is provided that includes the application of a composition to the plastic substrate containing between 0.01 and 10 total weight percent of a UV absorber in a non-polymerizing oil present in an amount of greater than 50 total weight percent. The oil is allowed to form a protective layer on the plastic substrate and having said UV absorber dispersed therethrough.
