  • Patent number: 8435600
Abstract: A method of dispensing multiple adhesive filaments onto a substrate in a random pattern using asymmetrical pressurized process air. The method generally comprises moving the substrate along a machine direction and discharging multiple adhesive filaments from a plurality of liquid outlets. Pressurized process air is directed toward each one of the multiple adhesive filaments respectively along a first angle relative to a plane including an associated liquid outlet. Pressurized process air is also directed toward each one of the multiple adhesive filaments respectively along a second angle relative to the plane including the associated liquid outlet and on an opposite side of the associated liquid outlet than the pressurized process air directed along the first angle. The second angle is different than the first angle so that the pressurized process air is directed asymmetrically toward the multiple adhesive filaments.

Abstract: A multilayer film suitable for sealing containers such as used for food packaging, and methods of making the film, are described. The film is particularly suitable for sealing containers made from polylactic acid (PLA). The multilayer film includes a) a substrate that includes a polymeric base layer; and b) on the substrate, a heatseal layer containing a PLA homopolymer or copolymer. The heatseal layer further includes dispersed therein an adhesion promoter, or alternatively the substrate further includes the adhesion promoter in a layer on a surface of the polymeric base layer between and adjacent the base layer and the heatseal layer. An antifog agent may also be included in the heatseal layer or on the surface of the heatseal layer opposite the substrate.

Abstract: The present invention is in the field of composite material manufacturing technology, and relates to a prefabricated fabric for liquid molding composite material and a preparation method thereof. The prefabricated fabric comprises a basal fiber fabric, which is characterized in that one or two surface(s) of the basal fiber fabric is(are) conglutinated with a toughening layer. The method for preparing the prefabricated fabric comprises the steps of conglutination of toughening layer, and conglutination of tackifying layer. The prefabricated fabric has both the interlaminar selective toughening and tackifying functions, and realizes the high toughness modification of the composite material while keeping the composite material liquid molding processibility and the good tackifying performance.

Abstract: The present invention discloses methods and apparatuses for the separations of IC fabrication and assembling of separated IC components to form complete IC structures. In an embodiment, the present fabrication separation of an IC structure into multiple discrete components can take advantages of dedicated IC fabrication facilities and achieve more cost effective products. In another embodiment, the present chip assembling provides high density interconnect wires between bond pads, enabling cost-effective assembling of small chip components. In an aspect, the present process forms interconnect wires on a thermal decomposable adhesive, and after positioning the wires at proper bond pad locations, releases the interconnect wires onto the bond pads.

  • Publication number: 20100300613
Abstract: A linerless pressure-sensitive label uses a heat-activated, non-tacky dead coat to cover a pressure sensitive substratum. Upon heat activation, the dead coat melts and admixes with an underlying pressure-sensitive adhesive substratum thereby resulting in an exposed pressure-sensitive adhesive. The label can then be applied to packaging or an end product by pressing the adhesive side of the label to the packaging or end product similar to a conventional pressure-sensitive label, however, no silicone-coated release liner is required. The elimination of the silicone-coated release liner results in lower material costs, lower shipping costs and less waste.

Abstract: A packaging container is such that a laminate features a film-shaped substrate bonded to a hot-sealing layer via a contact adhesive layer for easy opening and reclosing the container—arranged between an adhesive layer of permanent adhesive and a hot-sealing layer and is bonded to itself via a sealing seam or to another film to form a pouch or, as lid, bonded to the edge of a pouch. For the production of the laminate, the film-type substrate is coated—via liquid-film coating using the curtain coating or slide-coating method—with a multi-layer liquid film comprising at least an adhesive layer, the contact adhesive layer and the cohesively rupturing hot-sealing layer.
