  • Patent number: 6767591
Abstract: A flexible and self-adhesive repositionable dry erasable markerboard is disclosed, together with a method for making such repositionable dry erasable markerboard. The repositionable dry erasable markerboard is made of a second layer, comprising a paper layer, with a first layer, comprising a dry erasable layer applied to the upper surface of the second layer, and a third layer, comprising a pressure sensitive adhesive layer, applied to the lower surface of the second layer. The dry erasable first layer may be either a coating cured under the presence of a nitrogen blanket or a film. The pressure sensitive adhesive of the third layer may be applied to the entire surface of the second layer or selectively zone-coated. The pressure sensitive adhesive of the third layer may be covered with a fourth layer, comprising a removable liner. The paper second layer may be coated and/or printed. The repositionable dry erasable markerboard is flexible and may be rolled into a tube.

  • Patent number: 6737102
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for monitoring the application of a viscous material onto at least one moving strand or other narrow substrates. A detection unit, such as a machine vision system, an infrared sensor, an ultraviolet detector, or a light curtain with multiple detectors, senses radiation originating from the viscous material after it is applied to the strand or strands and, typically, before each strand is contacted with a substrate. The detection unit determines a detected value representative of a characteristic of the pattern from the sensed radiation, compares the detected value with a reference value representative of a desired standard for the characteristic, and outputs a signal in accordance with the result of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 6733856
Abstract: A double eyelid forming tape or string that can form an eyelid with a clear fold easily and safely in a simple manner, and a method of manufacturing the same. An article of manufacture for forming a fold in an eyelid of a user is constructed by applying an adhesive layer on a narrow tape member, which is resiliently stretchable so as to return to its original unstretched state after being stretched, and providing holding portions having no adhering property on the surfaces at both ends thereof for holding by fingertips of the user. A fold in the eyelid of the user is formed by pressing the stretched tape member on the position of the eyelid where the user wants to form a fold in a state where both ends thereof are held and stretched, adhering the tape member thereon with the adhesive layer, and releasing the stretched tape member. Therefore, when the tape member under a tension resiliently contracts, it breaks into the eyelid and forms an eyelid having a fold.
