  • Patent number: 8092868
Abstract: The present invention provides a die coating apparatus, which includes a die including an upstream-side bar and a downstream side-bar aligned with each other along a direction of transportation of a band-shaped support continuously transported by a backup roll so as to form a pocket for storing a coating solution and a slit serving as a feed-out path of the coating solution, the slit having an outlet for feeding out the coating solution stored in the pocket of the die therefrom to thereby coat the coating solution on the band-shaped support, in which the downstream-side bar has a lip having a divergent cross-sectional shape continuous in the direction of a width of the downstream-side bar, and an inclination angle ? of a side end part on the most downstream side of the lip of the downstream-side bar is within the range of 20° to 80°.

  • Patent number: 8067058
Abstract: The amount of a paint for forming a porous heat-resistant layer supplied to the outer surface of a gravure roll is adjusted by removing the paint with a blade that is disposed so as to contact the outer surface. A resin blade is used, and the position at which the resin blade contacts the outer surface of the gravure roll is changed as the resin blade wears away. This prevents the amount of the paint for forming the porous heat-resistant layer removed from the outer surface of the gravure roll from changing as the resin blade wears away, so that the excess amount of the paint carried on the outer surface of the gravure roll is removed with good accuracy. An almost constant amount of the paint is thus transferred to an electrode surface from the outer surface of the gravure roll, and a porous heat-resistant layer with an almost uniform thickness is stably formed on an industrial scale.

  • Publication number: 20100279114
Abstract: The invention offers a method of manufacturing a prepreg capable of impregnating a fiber substrate with a liquid resin with a high degree of impregnation, and a prepreg obtained by this method. The invention is a method of manufacturing a prepreg by impregnating a long fiber substrate with a liquid resin using a kiss roller whose bottom portion is immersed in a liquid resin, including a step of impregnating the fiber substrate with a liquid resin from one surface thereof, by conveying the fiber substrate while maintaining contact with a circumferential surface of the kiss roller which is not immersed in resin, and performing this step at least twice in succession, and a prepreg obtained by this manufacturing method.
