  • Patent number: 4062995
Abstract: A highly elastic and easily stretchable permanently shaped reticular web of an elastomeric and thermoplastic film forming composition which comprises a thermoplastic elastomeric component consisting essentially of linear or radial A-B-A block copolymers or mixtures of these linear or radial A-B-A block copolymers with simple A-B block copolymers. A resin component also may be included.

  • Patent number: 4056647
Abstract: The edge of a ceiling tile adjacent the fissured or embossed face of the ceiling tile is provided with a powder coating. The ceiling tile is formed from a fibrous board which has an open pore structure, and powder is dusted on the edge of the ceiling tile and is mechanically held in the open pore structure of the ceiling tile. The powder coating covers the upper edge of the ceiling tile with a coating so as to eliminate the dark edge effect secured when two ceiling tiles are in position with their front planar surfaces not quite in the same plane.

  • Patent number: 4055692
Abstract: A display unit for gas pump counters and the method of formation thereof are presented. The display unit converts a conventional three digit gas pump display unit to a four digit display unit by forming a fourth digit display window in existing gas pump units and then covering the windows with a uniform mask to present a uniform appearance.

  • Patent number: 4039706
Abstract: A novel self-adhesive type multi-layer laminated bituminous roofing membrane suitable for the formation of the roofing or waterproofing layer on roofs, floors and the like is provided. It comprises a base sheet of a sheet-like material, one or more bitumen layers coated on all or part of one or both faces of the base sheet, at least one layer of compound bitumen including both bitumen and rubber and/or resin laminated on all or part of the surface of said bitumen-coated layer on the base sheet and at least one release sheet laid over the whole surface of said compound bitumen layer. This roofing membrane is produced by uniting the bitumen-coated base sheet and the compound bitumen-coated release sheet, and can be applied over a substrate in a simple manner, without the step of melting or liquefying bitumen as in the conventional application process.

  • Patent number: 4021276
Abstract: A shadow mask particularly useful in ion implantation processes is disclosed. The mask is fabricated by doping a surface region of a semiconductor wafer to render that region resistant to a particular etchant, machining cavities in the surface of the wafer opposite the doped surface to a depth that does not quite reach the doped region, forming pattern openings in the webs remaining across the ends of the cavities, and thinning the webs by exposure to the particular etchant until the undoped material in the webs is removed. Thus, the ultimate thickness of the webs is controlled substantially by the doping depth.

  • Patent number: 3985599
Abstract: A slit film and method of making same, the slits forming apertures defined by a plurality of axially oriented spaced apart ribbons, the film is pre-slit to define a plurality of substantially parallel interconnected ribbons and stretched axially of said ribbons to orient the ribbons and neck same down to define the open areas therebetween. Preferably, the ribbons will be interconnected at spaced apart nodes.

  • Patent number: 3950584
Abstract: Netting of small net size is economically made by forming a network of crossing longitudinal and transverse threads, bonding the threads together at the crossings by individually moulded buttons of thermoplastic material and moulding small masses of thermoplastic material (which may or may not be the buttons at the crossings) bearing integrally moulded elements radiating towards the centres of the mesh openings. The radiating elements may terminate close to one another or be joined together by an integrally moulded boss in the central region of each mesh opening. The radiating elements effectively block the mesh openings or divide them up into smaller openings without requiring correspondingly large and possibly excessive lengths of threads. The netting is suitable for security purposes, for example at expositions.
