The phase difference compensating element includes: a birefringent layer formed with a film stack of obliquely-deposited films, each of the obliquely-deposited films having a thickness equal to or smaller than the used wavelength; and an Rd-AR film that is formed with a film stack of two or more kinds of dielectric films having different refractive indexes, and provides an arbitrary phase difference to a phase difference in obliquely-incident transmitted light in the birefringent layer. The phase difference Rd to be provided by the Rd-AR film satisfies 1<Rd(?)/Rd(??)<1.5 (?<??), at an arbitrary wavelength ? in the used wavelength band and within an incident light angle range of 0 to 25 degrees.

Abstract: Sound absorbing or attenuating laminate flooring materials are provided, which are directed to be used in the production of floor covering, floor panels, furniture panels, cabinets, counter-tops and wall panels. As well, the methods for producing such products are provided. In particular, abrasion resistant panels, with a laminated structure, created by forming an assembly which consists of laminating a heat-activated resin impregnated paper wear layer, a decorative layer with printed graphics or a wood veneer decorative layer, a medium density (MDF) or high-density (HDF) natural fiber-based core and a resin impregnated paper balancing layer. To achieve sound absorbing and/or attenuating properties, any or all paper layers may be pre coated with an additional flexible elastomeric coating, film or material prior to assembly of the panel, or the natural fiber core panel may be coated with a flexible elastomeric coating, film or material prior to assembly with the papers.

Abstract: A retroreflective sheet and a fabrication method thereof are provided, the retroreflective sheet including a base, a bonding layer formed on the base, a colored layer formed to be thicker in a non-reflective region NRA2 than in a reflective region RA2 to have a concavo-convex surface on the bonding layer, and having a fluorescent function or a phosphorescent function or having the both fluorescent and phosphorescent functions, a reflective layer formed in the concave portion of the reflective region RA2 on the surface of the colored layer, and a light concentrating layer having a plurality of beads aligned therein on the reflective layer. Thus, since a step is not generated between the reflective region and the non-reflective region, the light reflective member can be prevented from being delaminated from the body when used, and also, the light reflective member can be simply formed in the reflective region of the colored layer.
