Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved formaldehyde-free coated fibrous substrate. The coating includes a crosslinked binder system which forms three dimensional networks when heat cured. After the coating is applied to the back of fibrous substrate and cured, the coating is capable of hygroscopic expansion which imparts excellent anti-sag properties. The coating is compatible with other coating systems with neutral or mild alkaline pH. The improvement being the binding system is neutralized with a volatile base so that it evaporates quickly so as not to hinder the cross-linking reaction.

A decorative material 20 can be obtained by laminating the above mentioned decorative sheet on a surface of a base material 5, which is a resin molded body.

Abstract: The present invention relates to thermoplastic compositions having; high dimensional stability at high temperatures. In particular it is directed to polyester compositions containing mica for use in dual-ovenable trays and clear lids for hot food containers. According to one embodiment, the present invention is directed to a polyester composition comprising a polyester containing greater than about 2 to less than about 10 weight % of a mica filler. According to another embodiment of the present invention the mica containing polyester is prepared by the addition of the mica during polymerization, using a buffer to minimize diethylene glycol formation. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the polyester composition containing greater than 2 to less than 10 weight % mica also contains an additive package of impact modifier, nucleating agent and pigment in a concentration from about 5 weight % to 20 weight of the total composition.

Abstract: A coating composition containing a resinous binder with colorants and reflective pigments. The colorants absorb visible light at a first wavelength and produce fluorescent light at a second wavelength band when exposed to visible light. When applied to a substrate, the coating composition appears as one color on face from the specular reflection of the colorants off the reflective pigments and a different color on flop from the fluorescent light produced by the colorants.
