A closure assembly for the container comprises an imperforate sealable metal liner for covering a container opening in its entirety. A radio frequency identification tag includes a microprocessor electrically coupled with an antenna through mounting contacts extending from the microprocessor to the antenna for receiving, storing, and transmitting digitized information. Electromagnetic interference with receiving, storing, or transmitting of digitized information to or from the radio frequency identification tag is controllable by restricting electrical coupling of the microprocessor with the imperforate metal liner to the mounting contacts. When sealed over a container opening to cover a container opening in its entirety, the imperforate metal liner abates migration of fluids between a container interior volume and an exterior of a container.

  • Patent number: 8574695
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a multilayer film having, as its main component, a hydroxy acid polymer with improved gas barrier and optional heat sealability. The oriented film of predominately hydroxy acid polymer having controlled shrink can be produced by melting and coextruding a hydroxy acid polymer with a much thinner layer of an amorphous aromatic copolyester to form a multilayer film that is quench cooled, then biaxially stretched at a process temperature above the glass transition and below the cold crystallization temperature of the hydroxy acid polymer. A heat-setting treatment with a controlled relaxation of the film above the hydroxy acid polymer glass transition temperature and below its melt temperature may be used to control shrinkage. The films thus obtained are vacuum metallized on the aromatic copolyester surface to produce environmentally friendly packaging from predominately renewable resources having improved gas barrier properties.

Abstract: A thermoplastic architectural composite laminate material can include a light transmissive skin, a thermoplastic backing, an adhesive layer and an ink image. The adhesive layer can be between the light transmissive skin and the thermoplastic backing. The ink image can be printed between the light transmissive skin and the thermoplastic backing such that the ink image is visible through the outer surface. The composite laminate materials can be designed with improved temperature fluctuation tolerance, long-term moisture resistance, and tensile and peel strength. Further, the ink image in conjunction with certain adhesives can be highly durable. Such ink images can have a convincing appearance of natural materials such as marble, granite, wood, and the like, including wet-out and depth appearance which can be tailored in appearance and colors.
