Abstract: The present invention for the first time proposes a multilayer sheet- or tube-type food casing or food film produced by the nozzle blast-drawing process and biaxially oriented by the triple-bubble process, which is fashioned as a food packaging having the form of shrink bags, sealable films, wrapping films or the like. This novel food casing or food film comprises at least nine layers of which an EVOH layer has the form of an oxygen barrier symmetrically embedded between two PA layers intended to impart strength and in turn symmetrically enclosed by two PO layers for the water vapor barrier, and wherein the external layer is formed by a highly temperature-resistant material such as PET which on top of its excellent optical properties also enables clearly higher speeds for further processing (cycle numbers) than were previously known.

Abstract: The object of the invention is a liquid packaging board (1), wherein the base board (3) is provided with at least one polymeric coating layer on both sides thereof to decrease the flavor scalping from a packaged liquid, such as citrus fruit juice. Inside the baseboard, there is a layer (6) of ethylene methyl acrylate copolymer either in a direct contact with the packaged liquid or coated with a thin layer of polyolefin. The invention also relates to a closed package for liquid food that is formed from the liquid packaging board (1) by folding and seaming, wherein the side that comes in contact with the food product, correspondingly, comprises an EMA layer and, possibly, a thin polyolefin layer on top of the same. The invention further comprises the use of EMA in decreasing the flavor scalping from the packaged liquid by the packaging material.

Abstract: A flexible-to-rigid tube is flexible when routed and is then rigidized to increase burst strength. According to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, the flexible-to-rigid tube is included in a cooling plate assembly for transferring heat from electronic components mounted on a circuit board. In one embodiment, the flexible-to-rigid tube (while in a flexible state) includes a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) or other silicone containing pendant or terminal epoxy, vinyl and/or acrylate functional groups and an initiator (e.g., a sulfonium salt photoinitiator, a free radical photoinitiator, or a thermal initiator). In another embodiment, triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) and an initiator are incorporated into a conventional PVC-based tubing material. The flexible-to-rigid tube changes from the flexible state to a rigid state via formation of a cross-linked network upon exposure to actinic radiation or heat.
