Patent number: 8465817Abstract: A polyester container furnished with a flange part having mechanical strength, transparency, and heat resistance through orientational crystallization, which polyester container exhibits low-temperature heat sealability, is provided by forming a projecting portion at an upper surface of the crystallized flange part, the projecting portion at at least a heat-sealing-face constituting region rendered amorphous or of low crystallinity. Further, in order to suppress the unevenness of the strength of sealing with a cover member and stably attain the high sealability, the projecting portion is deformed at the time of heat sealing with the cover member so as to form a resin piece protruding toward the interior of the container while being substantially appressed against the upper surface of an opening rim part. The formed resin piece couples with a sealant layer of the cover member.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2004Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Assignee: Toyo Seikan Kaisha, Ltd.Inventors: Yasushi Hatano, Tsutomu Iwasaki, Masahito Kogure, Hideo Kawasaki, Hisao Iwamotoi

Publication number: 20130147097Abstract: A preform for use in a system for simultaneously forming and filling a container. The preform includes a finish region, a stretch initiation region adjacent to and descending from the finish region, a transition region adjacent to and descending from the stretch initiation region, a body region adjacent to and descending from the transition region, and an end cap region enclosing an end of the body region to define an interior for receiving a forming fluid. The stretch initiation region defines a wall thickness less than a wall thickness of the body region to encourage initial localized stretching in response to the forming fluid prior to stretching within the transition region or body region.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2012Publication date: June 13, 2013Inventors: MICHAEL T. Publication number: 20130142979Abstract: The present invention relates to a component carrier tray, and more particularly, a thermoformed carrier tray for integrated circuit (IC) components such as IC chips. The trays of the present invention have the benefit of being suitable for all parts of the IC component manufacturing process, including being suitable for the steps of transporting, sorting, storing, baking, etc. Thus the trays of the present invention reduce the need for transferring IC components from one tray to another and as a result reduce manufacturing cost and risk of part damage. The trays of the present invention are particularly suitable for mid-temperature applications.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2011Publication date: June 6, 2013Applicant: LUBRIZOL ADVANCED MATERIALS, INC.Inventors: Kurt S. Publication number: 20130142978Abstract: Polyoxymethylene compositions with polyoxymethylene polymers polymer/polyol additives having a core-link-arm structure. Upon molding, these compositions exhibit stable melt viscosity and simultaneous improvement in notched Izod impact strength and/or decreased relative apparent capillary melt viscosity, and/or increased elongation at break, relative to polyoxymethylene compositions lacking such core-link-arm structure additives.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2011Publication date: June 6, 2013Applicant: E I Du Pont De Nemours and CompanyInventors: Ramabhadra Ratnagiri, Henry Keith Chenault
