  • Patent number: 6630234
Abstract: By using a polymeric film having a dielectric loss tangent of 0.002 or less measured at a frequency in the range of 1 kHz to 1 GHz at a temperature of 25 ° C., heat generation of dielectric loss of capacitors can be reduced and rising of temperature can be inhibited, and, can highly stand the rise of temperature, whereby further miniaturization and increase in capacity of capacitors become possible. Furthermore, the problems in handling that the films are apt to cut or become entangled at the rewinding step can be greatly improved by using polymeric films which are 1 or less in friction coefficient between the films of the same material. Accordingly, the polymeric films are excellent in performance of insulator film, namely, small in dielectric loss tangent, and, moreover, are free from the problems in handling that the films are apt to cut or become entangled at the rewinding step. Furthermore, the polymeric films are suitable for film capacitors.

Abstract: A thermal conductive sheet with conductive foil is obtained by press bonding a magnetic foil to a thermal conductive layer via a primer layer. Since the primer layer contains a thermal conductive filler, it has high thermal conductivity and does not interrupt thermal conduction from the thermal conductive layer to the magnetic foil. It also spontaneously destroys a skin layer on the surface of the thermal conductive layer upon the press bonding. Accordingly, the thermal conductive sheet with conductive foil of the present invention improves thermal conduction from the thermal conductive layer to the conductive foil, eliminating the unfavorable effects of the skin layer and the primer layer, and thus improves heat radiation of the thermal conductive sheet with conductive foil.

  • Patent number: 6455138
Abstract: A metallized composite comprising a first thermoplastic layer, a discontinuous intermediate layer comprising discrete islands of metal in an adhesive, and a second thermoplastic layer. The metallized composites of the invention can be employed as reflective surfaces, such as are used as mirrors or substitutes for chrome trim on automobiles. A particularly preferred metal as a component of the discontinuous layer of the composite is indium.

Abstract: The present invention embodies covers, especially those used in the textile industry. Some covers are made of a polypropylene comprising less than 90 percent isotactic linkages and a thermoplastic block copolymer comprising hard segments of polystyrene combined with soft segments. Other covers are made of metallocene-catalyzed polyolefins and thermoplastic block copolymers. The durable-abrasion resistant covers typically have a high static coefficient of friction.

  • Patent number: 6387524
Abstract: A composite liner for lining substrates, which does not employ volatile organic solvents, is provided. The composite liner comprises a chemical resistant layer, and a tie layer which is tacky prior to cure, disposed on the chemical resistant layer. Once the tie gum layer is disposed on the substrate such as a metal tank liner wall, and cured, the composite liner adheres tightly to the substrate. Also provided is a novel tie gum composition for the tie layer, which comprises a halogenated, sulfonated polyolefin, an epoxidized elastomer, preferably a low viscosity halogenated rubber, a curing agent for the epoxidized rubber, preferably an acid acceptor for the halogenated, sulfonated polyolefin, preferably a tackifier, and preferably an adhesion agent.

  • Publication number: 20020037419

Abstract: The parts are produced by two-component injection molding. Those regions that are to be metallized consist of a first plastic and those regions that are not to be metallized consist of a second plastic. After the entire surface of the parts has been seeded, the seeding is selectively removed with the aid of a solvent in the regions which are not to be metallized. The first plastic is insoluble and the second plastic soluble in the solvent. The selective metallization then takes place by electroless metal deposition and, if appropriate, electrodeposition of metal.
