  • Patent number: 6797382
Abstract: A crosslinkable thermal interface material is produced by combining at least one rubber compound, at least one amine resin and at least one thermally conductive filler. This interface material takes on the form of a liquid or “soft gel”. The gel state is brought about through a crosslinking reaction between the at least one rubber compound composition and the at least one amine resin composition. Once the foundation composition that comprises at least one rubber compound, at least one amine resin, and at least one thermally conductive filler has been prepared, the composition must be compared to the needs of the electronic component, vendor, or electronic product to determine if a phase change material and/or at least one solvent is needed to change some of the physical properties of the composition.

  • Patent number: 6680099
Abstract: A means and method of enhancing the damage tolerance of adhesive bonds by introducing gaps in the adhesive to divide the adhesive layer into discrete regions. The gaps are created by placing strips of barrier material between the two adherends before the adhesive is put in place and cured. If the two adherends begin to debond along the interface between one of the adherends and the adhesive, the gap arrests the debonding process.

Abstract: A rubber product with a metallic structure formed from an aluminum material having a vulcanized rubber bonded thereto. The vulcanized rubber is formed from a composition in which a natural rubber and an acrylic rubber are mixed in a proportion of 90/10-60/40 by weight. The vulcanized rubber has an island-sea structure in which fine particles of said acrylic rubber having a size of 0.1-100 &mgr;m are dispersed in a matrix phase of the natural rubber. A method of producing the rubber product with the metallic structure is also disclosed.
