Abstract: A bracket in combination with a boat surface for holding a boat accessory on a boat includes a boat surface, a mounting plate having a first side and a second side, a slotted exterior surface extending through the first side and defined by raised portions on either side thereof, each of the raised portions having an opening therethrough, a plurality of connectors, wherein each one of the connectors extends through one of each the openings to connect the mounting plate to the boat surface, wherein the boat surface and the slotted surface and raised portions define a slotted area therebetween, and a support plate having a first end configured to be removably received and retained in the slotted area in a manner which provides a second end of the support plate to operably connect an accessory.

Abstract: A fishing pole strike alert device having an anchor pivotally connected to a rod holder with spring tensioned members positioned between the anchor and the rod holder. The tensioning members vary the angular displacement of the rod holder and anchor, which is used in an electrical alarm circuit with alarm contacts actuatable through the angular displacement between the anchor and rod holder with one of the contacts user selectively positionable to vary the pressure required to actuate the alarm circuit. The electrical circuit uses a self-contained DC power source, preferably a battery. The present invention also provides a fishing strike pole alert device wherein the anchor is a stake decreasing diametrically to a point whereby the anchor can be inserted into the ground.

Abstract: A fishing rod mount is described wherein said mount comprises a base portion and a rod holder. The base portion is configured for secure receipt within a cylindrical cup holder, and said rod holder is capable of securely maintaining a fishing rod.

Abstract: A fishing rod fixing device includes a base that is supported by two suction cups for easy and efficient attachment of the device to a smooth fixture surface. A seat is rotatably mounted on the base and is releasably set any desired horizontal direction by an adjustment knob. The seat includes a tubular bar on which at least one retainer is mounted and rotatable about the bar for setting the retainer at any desired inclination angle. An angle locking member is provided to releasably secure the retainer at the desired inclination angle. The retainer has a base support mounted to the tubular bar and a top wall member spaced from the base support to define a passage therebetween for receiving a fishing rod. A locking member is provided on the top wall and is manually movable to releasably and selectively secure the fishing rod to the base support.

Abstract: A device, fashioned and formed to secure a long shafted object, primarily, but not limited to a fishing pole. The embodiment comprises of a shaft/distal end that enters a nonimpervious surface at the shores edge. Coils are used to support the fishing poles aft handle. A support arm extending to a cradle for supporting the forward handle or backbone of the fishing pole. The user simply slides the aft portion of the pole down into the coils and rests the pole into the cradle, thus provides hands free support.

Abstract: A fishing pole tender system for attachment to a support structure that includes a generally rigid base with a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The first side and the second side are physically connected and spatially separated by an intermediate portion such that a support structure fits between the first side and the second side. The first side, the second side or both, may include at least one accessory mounting portion for interchangeably mounting fishing accessories to the base. One or more fishing pole holders are securely attached to the base. The first side, the second side, or both may include a indented portion comprising an arcuate or v-shaped form, a slanted portion, or a combination thereof. The indented portion provides improved attachment to a support structure by imparting compressive force onto a support structure.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder that is mountable to a surface. The rod holder comprises an elongated sleeve defining a proximal end, a distal end and a body disposed between the proximal end and the distal end. The body delimits an internal channel that extends between the proximal end and the distal end and that opens out of the distal end. The distal end includes a first cut-out and a second cut-out which are in communication with the internal channel and in communication with each other. The second cut-out is positioned perpendicular with respect to the first cut-out and opening out of the distal end wherein the second cutout is sized and shaped to guide the handle of the fishing rod to the first cut-out as the fishing rod enters the distal end and into the internal channel.

The fishing system includes a tower like tubular support extending from a base member configured to receive at least on tip down. The tubular support includes a tubular visual signal housed at a location on the support and an audio signal housed within the support. The tubular support includes a first wiring outlet configured for wiring a switch on the tip downs to the audio and visual signals and a second wiring outlet for wiring a switch on the tip ups to the audio and visual signals.

Abstract: A fishing rod holding device having a long U-shaped barrel with a longitudinal opening between a pair of opposing longitudinal walls, and a notch formed through an outer edge of each of the opposing longitudinal walls. A is bail structured to fit over the longitudinal opening between the pair of opposing longitudinal walls of the U-shaped barrel at least covering the wall notches and portions of the barrel on either side of the wall notches. A hinge mechanism is provided between the bail and the outer edge of a first one of the opposing longitudinal walls of the semi-tubular barrel for swinging the bail over the longitudinal opening thereof, and a locking mechanism is provided between the bail and the outer edge of a second one of the opposing longitudinal walls for securing the bail relative to the semi-tubular barrel.

The multi-directional mounting feature includes a plate defining at least two intersecting mounting channels. A cap is configured to mate with the plate in at least two positions, thereby allowing the rod holder to be multi-directionally mounted.

Abstract: A fishing chair mounts directly in the sandy bottom of a relatively shallow surf. A vacuum pump pulls a base pole down into the sand to form a sturdy foundation, even in rough surf conditions. A seat assembly is mounted at the upper end of the base pole. The chair mount may be fabricated from composite materials or plastic, such as PVC, to prevent corrosion. The chair mount is also provided with a foot rest or step that is braced against the base pole. The surf fishing chair is positioned above the waves under normal surf conditions, but also withstands larger wave impacts while safely supporting a fisherman in the seat structure. Other features include adjustable fishing pole holders, a tackle box, a bait box, a bait cutting surface, a fish net holder, and a fish stringer and basket.

Abstract: The invention is an adjustable rod holder comprising a tubular holster mounted to an arm and a base, wherein the arm is secured to the base by a rotating joint that is secured in a first angular position by a locking member that moves radially with respect to an axle of the rotating joint. The rotating joint can be releasably secured at a plurality of indexed angular positions by the locking member fitting within a plurality of recesses spaced radially about an axle of the rotating joint. Preferably, the arm of the rod holder has a sufficient length to allow the rod holder to store the rod in a vertical position without interference from the gunnel or other mounting surface. In one embodiment, the rod holder has a pivoting stabilizer that engages the reel of a rod placed in the holder to secure and stabilize the system.

Abstract: An ergonomic cushion is adapted to be releasably attached to a proximal end of a fishing rod. The cushion has a top and a bottom that are integrally formed with one another. The top is wider than the bottom so that the cushion fits under an arm without cutting off circulation. A bore formed in the bottom snugly receives the proximal end. In a second embodiment, the cushion is solid and an elastic band tightly ensleeves the cushion and the proximal end of the rod so that all of the cushion is between the proximal end and the under arm area of the user. The butt end of the rod may be placed into a rod holder without removal of the cushion.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a fishing rod holder, comprising a rod holder pivotably attached to a base member; the rod holder comprising a main pivot arm, a trigger pivot arm and a resilient member attachment point, a trigger pivotably attached to the rod holder at the trigger pivot arm; the base member comprises a main pivot support having at least one trigger groove disposed therein, which is attached to the base member, a trigger resilient member attached to a main pivot end of the main pivot support, wherein the trigger is dimensioned to releasingly engage the trigger groove, and wherein the trigger resilient member is dimensioned and arranged to engage the trigger, and a main resilient member attached between the base and the resilient member attachment point. The fishing rod holder has a cocked configuration and a released configuration. A method of using the fishing rod holder is also disclosed.

An alarm finger movable between a restrained or cocked position and a tripped position for actuating an audible alarm is attached to the arm. A fishing line engagement member is operatively associated with the alarm finger in such a way that when a fish strikes and pulls the line, the alarm finger is released from its cocked position and moves to its tripped position to actuate the alarm.

A rod collar is inserted through the openings. The rod collar is sized to receive the end of a fishing rod. The sliding lock plate captures the reel pedestal of a reel of a fishing rod. The sliding lock plate is secured to the retention base with a padlock. A rod retention plate may be used in conjunction with the locking storage system for fishing rods. A second embodiment includes a contoured rod base and a sliding lock plate engaged with the contoured rod base. A third embodiment includes a rod tray, a rod support and a swinging lock plate.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a support stand for a fishing pole holder, and is particularly adapted for ice fishing. In use, the stand holds the fishing pole in a generally upward angled position. The fishing pole is held in a pivotal position, so that upon sensing a hit on the attached line, the fishing pole tips downward. Legs, for supporting the body of the stand, can be placed in a first position or a second position, depending on the conditions of use for the stand. When not in use, the legs of the stand can be stored within the body.

Abstract: A support stand assembly for a rod and reel combination comprises a vertical support member, adapted for extending from a support surface. The support member includes a horizontal top surface and at least one vertical side surface. A T-shaped slot is positioned adjacent the at least one vertical surface of the support member and extends a selected distance into the support member from the top surface thereof. A leg of the T-shaped slot intersects the at least one vertical surface of the vertical support member. An attachment member is secured to the rod of a rod and reel combination proximal the balancing point thereof. The attachment member engages with the T-shaped slot of the support member to support the rod and reel combination in a horizontal position. The attachment member disengages from the T-shaped slot of the support member upon upward movement of the rod and reel combination.

Abstract: A rod jigging apparatus is disclosed for jigging one or more rods at the same time. The rod jigging apparatus includes a mounting member being designed for coupling to a support structure. An arm member selectively engages the mounting member whereby the arm member is designed for extending away from the support structure. At least one rod member is coupled to the arm member. The rod member is positioned opposite the mounting member. The rod member is designed for receiving a handle of a fishing rod whereby the arm member is for being pushed down and released by the user to jig the fishing rod positioned in the rod member.

Abstract: A holder, a method of using the holder and a method of making the holder, for securely retaining a tool, pole or fishing rod without damaging the support, such holder comprises a main body and a clip. The main body has a hollow cylinder section (10); an ell-shaped tang section (20) at the top of the cylinder, ridge steps (22) on the tang section; and a rail section (30) formed on the exterior cylinder wall. The clip (70) has a snap (71) on one end and channel guides (72) at the other end to fit within the rail section (30). The clip slidably engages the rail section (30) and tang section (20) and is secured in place by closing the snap (71) on the ridge steps (22). The holder is made by an injection molding process using commercially available plastic resins.

A fishing accessory, such as a fish hook retainer, can be attached to a fishing rod using a device with a shape suitable to be clamped between the mounting flange of a fishing reel and a fishing rod and/or reel clamp of the fishing rod. A fish hook retainer includes a pocket for retaining a fish hook, while protecting the point and barb of the hook from exposure.

Abstract: A receiver and plate for removably mounting devices to a surface on a boat or other vehicle. The receiver's top surface opens into a vertical slot with tapering side walls. The separate plate slides into this slot. The separate plate has corresponding side walls that mate with the tapering side walls in the receiver. A pair of horizontal steps on the plate come to rest against the receiver's top surface. Although the side walls of the plate rest closely against the side walls of the slot in order to minimize relative motion, the mating of the pair of steps to the receiver's top surface prevents the plate from becoming jammed in the receiver. The plate is used as the base member for a variety of holding devices. Different plates can be configured to mount fishing rod holders, lighting masts, navigation equipments, radios, and the like.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder is designed especially for use in catching large deep sea fish and has a bent and telescoping stanchion that is received in a standard pole holder found on a gunwale of a boat and other locations. A telescoping cross bar is attached to the top of the stanchion and has a padded member on one end and a gimble assembly on the other. The gimble assembly holds the fishing pole and allows pivoting along an X and Y axis. An arrester assembly is provided about the gimble assembly for safety should the fish pull down hard on the line of the fishing pole.

Abstract: Apparatus for temporarily securing a fishing rod in position while fishing, during the interval between fish strikes, having a fixed hollow tubular holder for the rod handle inserted in one end of the holder, the holder having an opening on the top, and having a clamp hingedly attached to one end of the opening, the clamp and opening being of a form allowing the user to secure the rod handle within the holder, by pressing down upon the clamp; and to free the rod handle from the holder by simply pulling up on the clamp.
