  • Patent number: 7857098
Abstract: An automated hunting blind which includes a platform operable to be always maintained in a generally horizontal position. The blind includes a base which is secured in an elevated position with a tree trunk. A boom is pivotally connected with the base and the platform. A drive and a control are provided to move the platform between a down position and selected elevated positions.

  • Patent number: 6574912
Abstract: A plastic upper jaw is pivotably mounted by a steel pin to a plastic base. A spring urges the jaw to close upon the base. A trigger is pivotably mounted to the base. A catch restrains the upper jaw in a set position until the trigger is actuated. The base has two upwardly extending side walls. Each side wall has a cable opening adjacent the floor of the base. A cable tie is looped around a pipe or support member and extends through the opposed openings in the opposite side walls. The ends of the tie are connected to secure the rodent trap to the support member. Because the upper jaw provides a wide gripping area, allowing the trap to be safely set, the trap is readily moved into the set position while it is secured to the support member, even if in an overhead position.

  • Patent number: 6099381
Abstract: A catching toy includes a container having a first container body and a second container body which is relatively movable to the first container body. The first and second container bodies are configurable in a first state in which the container is opened and a second state in which the container is closed to form a chamber which is large enough to contain an object to be caught. A biasing member biases the second container body to the second state when the container is in the first stage. An engaging member engages the second container body with the first container body to keep the container in the first state. A releasing member releases an engagement of the first and second container bodies to change the container in the second state, by a contact with the object to be caught so that the object is entrapped in the chamber of the container.

  • Patent number: 4780984
Abstract: An animal trap adapted for outdoor use to catch relatively small game animals and particularly adapted to be attached to a tree, post, or the like upstanding support and to be used independently of the height of snow and of other unfavorable ground conditions. This animal trap has a fixed jaw and a movable jaw. A bracket with arms projects away from the plane of the fixed jaw. The movable jaw is pivoted to an operative position angularly upwardly relative to the fixed jaw. A detent lever is pivoted between the arms of the bracket with an outer end forming a catch portion intercepting the movable jaw and holding it in operative position. A pair of spring wires operatively bias the movable jaw and cooperate with a chain to attach the trap to a tree, post, or the like, and the bait is attached to the detent lever to pivot the latter and release the movable jaw that then closes against the fixed jaw under the action of the spring wires.

  • Patent number: 4638591
Abstract: This fish securing device has a relatively small diameter cylindrical axial assembly to which are hinged a number of fish securing arms. A spring loading mechanism contained within the axial assembly urges the hinged arms towards a closed fish securing position by means of an actuating linkage arm associated with each securing arm. A cocking and trip mechanism is actuatable upon tugging on a fish lure connected to one end of the axial assembly for releasing the securing arms from an open cocked position towards their closed position to secure a fish tugging on the lure. The device features an improved, compact, streamlined configuration whereby the spring loading mechanism is contained within the central tubular assembly and wherein the cocking and trippng mechanism and securing arm actuating linkages are disposed in a relatively protected position between the securing arms and the central axial assembly to minimize the possibility of damage or of entanglement with underwater growth, rocks or debris.

  • Patent number: 4411091
Abstract: A pair of levers are provided including corresponding first base ends and second jaw ends. A pivot fastener pivotally connects the base ends of the levers together for relative swinging of the levers between first open positions with the jaw ends displaced away from each other and second closed positions with the jaw ends displaced toward each other into at least closely adjacent positions. Spring structure is operatively connected between the levers yieldingly biasing the latter toward the second positions thereof and releasable latch structure is provided and is operative to releasably latch the levers in the first positions. An elongated rigid support member is also provided and includes a flattened end and a pointed tip end.

  • Patent number: 3995391
Abstract: A fishing device has a spring steel inverted U-shaped spring member provided with two arms which terminate at their ends in double barbed hooks projecting inwardly toward each other, a baited fishing hook is suspended between the arms on strings extending horizontally between the arms such that when a fish passes between the double barbed members and nibbles at the bait on the baited hook the spring unit is activated to engage the barbed units into the fish.
