Abstract: A radiographic film material is described including a transparent film support having first and second major surfaces coated with a subbing layer, optionally overcoated with an antihalation undercoat. Coated adjacent on each side of the film support is a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion overcoated with a protective antistress layer. The emulsion layer has chemically and spectrally sensitized {111} tabular hexagonal grains or crystals, having silver iodide in an amount of at most 3 mole %, based on silver, covering at least 50% of the total projective surface of all grains, having an average grain thickness of less than 0.30 &mgr;m. The antistress layer, or the optional antihalation undercoat or both includes a N-amino mercapto-triazole compound containing one or more alkali soluble group(s). A radiographic screen/film combination is also described including the film material.

Abstract: A black-and-white silver halide photographic film material, particularly suitable for use in radiography, has been disclosed, said material comprising a transparent film support having first and second major surfaces coated with a subbing layer, further coated adjacent thereto on one side (for a single-side coated material) or on both sides (for a duplitized material) of said film support and overcoated with a protective antistress layer, a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer having chemically and spectrally sensitized {111} tabular hexagonal grains, accounting for at least 50% of the total projective surface of all grains, wherein said film material is coated with a low amount of silver and wherein said protective antistress layer(s)and/or another hydrophilic non-light-sensitive layer comprise(s) a compound according to general formula (I) in an amount of at least 0.5 mmole per mole of coated silver halide, as claimed.

Abstract: Equidensity images can be produced directly on high contrast, thin emulsion, fine grain, silver halide process films, such as Kodak Technical Pan Film (RTM), given instantaneous outdoor camera exposure. Photographic development of the film in an aqueous alkaline solution containing a halogen- substituted hydroquinone such as 2-chlorohydroquinone, or 2-bromohydroquinone as developing agent, and thiourea, or a mono N-substituted derivative such as 1-allyl-2-thiourea, as "chemical solarizer", followed by fixation, produces continuous tone violet-blue (negative) and brown to olive-black (positive) images having applicability in semi-abstract artistic photography and in scientific photography.
Abstract: The invention relates to providing a method of toning a black-and-white image formed with color couplers comprising providing a developed image, applying a hue changing material to said print wherein the hue of at least dye in said print is changed.
Abstract: A direct color thermal printer and method for direct color thermal recording of a full-color image on a thermosensitive color recording material is provided having yellow, magenta and cyan recording layers formed in this order from the outside, by sequentially recording yellow, magenta and cyan frames of the full-color image in this order in yellow, magenta and cyan recording layers. The recording speed of the yellow frame is set higher than the recording speed of the magenta and cyan frames by predetermining a recording cycle of one pixel or a recording time per pixel which is shorter for the yellow recording layer than the recording cycles for the magenta and cyan recording layers.

Abstract: A blueprint developing solution and process for developing blueprints, wherein the ammonia odor in the blueprints is reduced without eliminating the odor of the developing solution, comprising the incorporation of an effective amount of sodium chlorite in the developing solution or the addition of the vapor products of an aqueous sodium chlorite solution to the developing chamber of a blueprint developing machine.
Abstract: A light sensitive reprographic paper which is protected against deterioration caused by rough handling. The paper comprises a paper base having first and second surfaces, and a coating on the first surface comprising a light sensitive diazo-containing composition which develops by reaction with ammonia gas. The paper is adapted for development by exposure of one of the first and second surfaces to ammonia gas. A substantially transparent, flexible, polymeric sheet is permanently laminated to the paper surface which is not to be exposed to the gas.
