The material is low-priced and has a good coloring property, excellent color reproducibility and high sharpness. As the material has sufficient pressure resistance, it has few stress marks even after stored. Also disclosed is a method for forming a color image, using the photographic material.

The pigment content in the face side coating is at least 2 gm.sup.-2 and it is distributed such that the proportion by weight of pigment in the core layer is at least 1.75 times as great as the proportion by weight of pigment in the top surface layer. For optimum photodefinition (image sharpness) the top surface layer should be free of pigment, but as thin (1.5 to 3 .mu.m) as possible. The pigment is preferably TiO.sub.2.

The conductive material may be an alkali salt of a crosslinkable polysulfonic or polystyrene sulfonic acid or a coated or uncoated metal oxide from the group of metals of the 2nd to 4th main or sub groups, and may also contain a polyfunctional aziridin. The reverse side layer can be printed with thermal printers with only slight absorption of dirt and discoloration from developer baths, and has good adhesion of adhesive tape, good printability with conventional printers, good resistance to abrasion and baths, and a good antistatic properties.

    Abstract: In a photographic paper production method, a photographic paper support is coated with one or more photographic silver halide emulsion layers and one or more other hydrophilic colloid layers, at least one of the layers including a hardener. The coated support is then dried and conditioned to a temperature of from 24.degree. C. to 33.degree. C. The photographic and other layers on the support are conditioned to an equilibrium relative humidity of from 55% to 70%. The coated support is then stored at the conditioned temperature until the photographic and other layers have achieved a predetermined hardness. The new photographic paper production method reduces the post-production storage time required for photographic paper to achieve an acceptable level of abrasion resistance.

The invention is generally accomplished by forming a paper sheet, drying said paper in a first stage to below about 10 percent water, then applying a polyvinyl alcohol solution to both sides of said paper sheet, drying said paper in a second stage to below about 5 percent water, and then applying further polyvinyl alcohol solution to said paper and drying in a third stage. The paper then may be coated to form a silver halide photosensitive color paper. Further, the paper has a oxygen leak rate of less than about 25 cc/m.sup.2 / day and an oxygen GTR rate of less than about 1 cc/m.sup.2 /day.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a silver halide color photo-graphic light-sensitive material capable of providing a dye image having excellent color reproducibility, sharpness and image fastness. The light-sensitive material comprises a support having provided thereon a photographic constituent layer comprising a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a yellow dye-forming coupler, a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a magenta dye-forming coupler, and a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a cyan dye-forming coupler, and non-light-sensitive hydrophilic colloid layers.
