    Abstract: A silver halide color photographic material having improved granularity and sharpness is disclosed which comprises at least one coupler represented by formula (Ia), (Ib), or (Ic). ##STR1## wherein A represents a coupler residue which can split away from the coupler by A--X bond cleavage upon reaction with an oxidation product of a developing agent; X represents an oxygen atom, or a sulfur atom; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclic group; Y represents a substituent group; and n represents 0, 1, or 2, and when n is 2, the two Y's represent the same or different substituent groups, or two of substituents R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and Y represent divalent groups that combine with each other to form a ring structure.
