    Abstract: A silver halide light sensitive photographic material is disclosed, comprising component layers including a silver halide emulsion layer and a hydrophilic colloid layer, wherein the silver halide emulsion layer comprises tabular grains and at least one of the component layers layers contains a leuco compound capable of forming a dye upon reaction with an oxidation product of a developing agent; the tabular grains 1) having (111) major faces, and exhibiting an average equivalent circular diameter of 0.5 to 3.0 .mu.m and an average thickness of 0.07 to 0.3 .mu.m, 2) including epitaxially deposited silver halide protrusions of a face-centered cubic crystal lattice structure forming epitaxial junctions with the tabular grains, and 3) the protrusion being located on peripheral portions of the tabular grains.
