Abstract: A fire-starter device for survival or emergency use has a handle portion and case portion that twist together, to sheath a mischmetal flint rod inside the case, and a seal ring protects the flint rod from environmental moisture. The case has a steel strike plate and a guide channel. The mischmetal flint rod favorably has a composition of cerium—50%, lanthanum—26%, magnesium—10%, praseodymium—3%, neodymium—1%, and iron—10%.

Abstract: A cigarette lighter comprises a housing bounding an inner space, and an actuating unit accommodated in the space and including a push-button, a lever mechanism connected with the push-button, a strike flint, a striking wheel connected with the lever mechanism, and a hood also connected with the lever mechanism, the lever mechanism being formed so that the hood opens for releasing a space for a flame and the striking wheel is turned for striking against the flint by different angles.

Abstract: An ignition stone container which encloses ignition stones to be used in a cigarette lighter when an ignition stone in use is abraded and to be exchanged. A projection to rotate a locking screw threadedly attached to an ignition stone taking-in portion in the lighter is projected integrally with a container body. When an ignition stone contained in the lighter is abraded and firing failure occurs, top end portion of the projection being projected to the ignition stone container is touched to a screw head groove of the locking screw leading to an ignition stone enclosing portion in the lighter and then rotated, thereby the locking screw can be removed and the ignition stone can be exchanged. After the exchanging slao, the projection is touched to the screw head groove of the locking screw and rotated thereby the locking screw can be threadedly tightened.

The bottom has a cover pivoted about an off-center axis outside a line joining the two orifices so that the cover can be pulled out and pivoted to give access to the orifices individually.The invention relates to smoker's lighters of the type comprising a reservoir having a bottom into which two orifices open, one for filling the reservoir and the other for the adjustment or replacement of an element of the lighter, this bottom being covered by a rotatable cover carrying a pivot substantially perpendicular to said bottom and about which it can be turned, while remaining parallel to itself, to uncover the two orifices.
