Abstract: The invention relates to a gas-fired cigarette lighter comprising a gas reservoir, a gas distributor valve and means which make it possible to ignite the gas emerging from this distributor valve, comprising at least one reserve supply of gas and means for draining this reserve supply into the gas reservoir. This lighter is remarkable in that it is rechargeable and comprises a filling device enabling simultaneous filling of the reserve supply and of the gas reservoir, the filling device comprising two serially disposed valves, opening of the valve situated between the reserve supply of gas and the other valve being operated either by the opening of this other valve or by an operating element, this other valve then remaining closed.

Abstract: A fuel tank of a disposable cigarette gas lighter is constituted of a tubular tank body of uniform cross section having a plurality of borings, a bottom cap attached to the lower end of the tank body and a lighting means holder attached to the upper end of the tank body. A part of the wall between the borings of the tank body is removed at either end thereof to provide a communicating path between the borings. The tank body which shares the major portion of the fuel tank is produced by cutting a continuous pipe of uniform cross section having a plurality of borings made by extrusion molding.
Abstract: A fire start unit having all the necessary elements for creating a flame to ignite a material such as wood. The unit includes hollow housing means with removable closure means at each end of the housing means with igniter means manually operated by the user at one end of the housing means to create a spark after the safety means has been removed. Contained within the hollow casing at the opposite end is removable tinder means consisting of a first flame means and a second flame means. The unit in operational use ignites the first flame means by a spark generated by the igniter means which in turn ignites the second flame means.
Abstract: A cigarette lighter is disclosed having a body defining a fuel reservoir and a passageway extending from the reservoir to the body exterior. An elongated sleeve is disposed within the passageway having interior walls defining a bore and a longitudinal groove in the walls opening to the bore. A solid valve stem is movably disposed within the sleeve bore. Actuation means are provided for moving the valve stem within the bore to effect valve operations.
