Abstract: According to one embodiment a gas shut-off valve is provided with an intermediate port communicating a gas inlet an a gas outlet, a closing member moveable between a closed position and an open position, the intermediate port being blocked when the closing member is in the closed position. The shut-off valve includes a magnetic actuator having at least one permanent magnet and a movable element, attached to the closing member, with a ferromagnetic element adhered to the permanent magnet when the closing member is in an open position. A manual actuator of the shut-off valve is configured to move the closing member to the open position. A temperature sensing device is included that has a rod that expands and shrinks with temperature changes, with one end of the rod facing the movable element. The expansion of the rod at a closing temperature causing a pushing on the ferromagnetic element, moving the closing member from the open position to the closed position.
Abstract: A thermostatic valve for controlling the temperature of the coolant in an internal combustion engine controls the flow of coolant between the internal combustion engine and a heat exchanger. The valve includes an actuation element which functions in a temperature-dependent manner for actuating lift of a main valve and of a bypass valve in a valve housing. The actuation element has a stationary piston supported on a valve housing part. A housing can be displaced relative to the piston and on which the valve members of the main valve and of the bypass valve are arranged. Further provided is a monitoring device for the position of the main valve, which works in a contactless manner and which has at least one sensor element contained in the valve housing part, and at least one associated permanent magnet for generating a magnetic field to which the sensor element is exposed.

Abstract: A gas appliance is provided for producing an open flame. The gas appliance includes an elongated gas tube, a gas inlet, a nozzle, a flame sensor, a gas shut-off valve, and a protective member. The gas tube has a proximal end and a distal end. The gas inlet is located near the proximal end, for connection to a source of combustible gas. The nozzle is located at the distal end, for expelling the combustible gas to produce the open flame. The flame sensor detects the open flame and communicates its absence or presence to the gas shut-off valve. The gas shut-off valve has a valve inlet, a valve outlet, a control input, and the over-ride mechanism. The valve inlet is connected to the gas inlet. The valve outlet is connected to the proximal end of the elongated gas tube.
Abstract: A system including a circuit for igniting or reigniting a pilot burner in a gas fired device each time heat is called for by a thermostat or otherwise. The main burner is ignited by the ignited pilot upon detection of pilot ignition. A sequencing interlock is provided for trial ignition over a limited period of time. An output of a main valve control acting through the sequencing interlock causes sustained actuation of a pilot valve control if the main valve control is actuated.
