Publication number: 20120115096Abstract: A gas supply control device for an apparatus, particularly a coking apparatus, includes timing means (20) and a first command means (12) for manually setting a an opening time interval of a safety valve of a gas tap (1), equipped with a second command means (6). In an installed condition of the control device (10), the command means (6, 12) are operable from outside the structure (7) of the apparatus, with the first command means (12) and the second command means (6) substantially rotating around one same axis, one independent from the other. The timing means (20) of the control device (10) belong to a functional unit (10a) which is coupled or configured for coupling with a portion of the body of the tap (2) which portion, in the above mentioned installed conditions, is located inside the structure (7) of the apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2010Publication date: May 10, 2012Inventors: Costanzo Gadini, Paolo Colombo

Publication number: 20120100494Abstract: A burner assembly comprising a burner element (8) at which gas is combusted. A valve (2) allows selective release of gas from a source into an expandable space (4) when the valve is opened. The space is expanadable up to a fixed volume (3) against the action of a restoring means. The space is arranged to contract under the action of the restoring means to force gas out of the space and to the burner element.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2006Publication date: April 26, 2012Applicant: RECKITT BENCKISER (UK) LIMITEDInventor: Matthew James

Publication number: 20020192610Abstract: A combustor for waste gas treatment having a flame stabilizing zone 15 surrounded by a peripheral wall 13 and closed with a bottom wall 14. The flame stabilizing zone 15 is provided to face a combustion chamber 11. Burner ports 23 for auxiliary combustible gas are provided in the peripheral wall 13 to inject an auxiliary combustible gas B into the flame stabilizing zone 15 so as to produce swirling flows. Burner ports 22 for waste gas are provided in the bottom wall 14 to inject an waste gas A into the flame stabilizing zone 15.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2002Publication date: December 19, 2002Inventors: Yoshiro Takemura, Kohtaro Kawamura, Yuji Shirao, Rikiya Nakamura

Patent number: 5213075Abstract: A gas burner (11) for a charcoal grill having a bowl (12) includes an elongated burner tube (30) secured to the bowl and passed through an opening (36) in the bowl (12) so as to be positioned in a substantially horizontal manner below and substantially parallel to a bed of charcoal supported on a charcoal support grid (18). The burner has a propane tank (42) connected to the free end thereof outside the bowl (12) and has air intake openings (44) in the tube (30) adjacent the free end. A venturi section (46) is formed into the tube (30) downstream of the air intake openings (44) and elongated diametrically-opposed, horizontal slots (50) defining the gas exit ports are positioned downstream of the venturi section (46). An igniter assembly (52) having its electrode (56,60) extending through an opening into the tube (30) is located between the venturi section (46) and the slots (50) to ignite the flowing gases.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1991Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignee: Weber-Stephen Products Co.Inventors: James C. Patent number: 4431402Abstract: A waste gas flare igniter includes a pair of ignition tubes, each having a fuel line and an electrode extending therethrough to points near the ends of the tubes. The tubes are connected to an air distribution box which is slidably mounted on linear guides. A jackscrew and motor translate the air box and tubes between an extended position wherein the tubes connect with inwardly directed extensions passing through a heat shield at the end of the flare pipe for ignition of the waste gas and a retracted position spacing the tubes from the heat shield. The air box is connected by a telescoping duct to a blower, and the fuel line to a valve and pump to provide a fuel-air mixture which is ignited when the tubes are extended to ignite the waste gas.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 1982Date of Patent: February 14, 1984Inventor: Louis F. Patent number: 4324763Abstract: In an apparatus for successively igniting a plurality of incense sticks or other elongated combustible articles, a series of timer discs on a common shaft is rotated by an electric motor. The rim of each disc is provided with a bore for holding one end of an incense stick. The opposite end of the stick is supported beneath an igniter element. As the motor shaft rotates, the timer discs are successively rotated to move the incense sticks, one at a time, into contact with the igniter element. Following ignition, each incense stick is further rotated for exposure to the atmosphere until fully consumed. The speed of rotation of the timer discs is controlled to provide complete consumption of an incense stick during each shaft revolution.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1981Date of Patent: April 13, 1982Inventor: James C. Jarman

Patent number: 4083673Abstract: A portable heating apparatus includes a catalytic bed, a fuel for the catalyst and an electrical circuit operative at a preset time and throughout a predetermined duration of time for igniting the fuel. The circuit includes a transducer in the form of a resistive heating element connected to a source of power and a pair of switches, all arranged in series with the power source. One switch comprises a motor driven time indicator and the other switch comprises a timer which is manually latched closed and automatically unlatched upon closure of the time indicator. The duration of time during which the latter switch remains closed after unlatching may be adjusted.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1976Date of Patent: April 11, 1978Assignee: General Time CorporationInventor: Ralph C.
