Abstract: A method for designing a connector between a first and a second element of a dental restoration, such as a connector between coping and coping, or coping and pontic, or pontic and pontic of a bridge, which is characterized by the steps of computing a (first) model of the first element and a (second) model of the second element, defining a connecting straight line between the first model and the second model, computing edge curves (?0, ?4) on the first model and the second model, whereby the edge curves are defined by origins of surface normal vectors of the models, which satisfy boundary conditions relative to the connecting line, computing offset curves (?1, ?3) on the first model and the second model from the first edge curves, and connecting the first edge curves and the offset curves of the first model and of the second model and computing the connector on the basis of the course of the connection between the curves.
Abstract: A flexible denture is provided with a denture plate and a false teeth assembly. The denture plate includes a support member and a deformable member. The support member has an approximately U-shaped base, a labial wall and a lingual wall extending from the base, wherein the labial and lingual walls form an approximate U-shaped cross-section along an imaginary vertical plane to form a channel. The deformable member extending across the channel and spaced a distance from the U-shaped base to separate the channel into a gum receiving section and a fitting section, the fitting section including a plurality of ridges extending between the U-shaped base and the deformable member. The deformable member is constructed of soft and pliable material. The false teeth assembly includes a plurality of false teeth secured to the base, the false teeth assembly includes a reinforcing bar embedded within and connecting the plurality of false teeth.
Abstract: An upper denture has an artificial teeth support base with side regions and a front region shaped for fitting onto a person's upper gums. The support base has an open area situated between the side regions and behind the front region and which exposes a portion of the roof of the wearer's mouth at that location. An arched center region of the support base extends between the side regions behind the open area and is shaped to fit against the roof of the mouth. The open configuration makes the denture more comfortable and provides a more natural environment in the mouth. For example, the tongue and foods and beverages may make direct contact with the top of the mouth. The support base may be articulated in a manner which enables adjustment of the fit of the denture after fabrication.
Abstract: A method for designing and constructing component part removable partial dentures comprising designing the removable partial denture in tooth-supported and tissue-borne components provided with mechanical locks, waxing the design onto an investment model, casting the components, finishing the components, fitting the components onto a master cast, and locking the components together on the master cast or in the patient's mouth to form a single rigid unit using visible light cured resin around and over mechanical locks cast into the frame components.
