Having Plural Piece Backing Or Discrete Connecting Means For Adjacent Tooth Portions Patents (Class 433/205)
  • Patent number: 7856286
Abstract: The invention relates to the processing of data regarding the three dimensional shape of a dental prosthesis, having two prosthesis sections and a connector section, wherein the connector section is connected to the two prosthesis sections and is less stable than the two prosthesis sections. The method includes the steps of (a) determining a stability parameter and a stability criterion for the connector section, (b) calculating the actual value for the stability parameter from the data, (c) checking the connector section to determine whether the actual value fulfills the stability criterion, and if not, generating a warning signal is to the user.

  • Patent number: 6878152
Abstract: The present invention relates to a forceps used for the surgical reduction of facial bones, characterized by the fact that it comprises two shaped branches diverging from opposite sides starting from a central elastic loop. Each branch develops on three Cartesian axis and has a first rectilinear section joined to a second section with 90° orientation, laying on the same plane that contains the loop and joined in turn with a 90° ending section, whose end is slightly bent towards the central loop.

  • Patent number: 5989569
Abstract: A delivery system for an oral care substance includes a strip of material having a yield point and thickness such that the strip of material substantially conforms to a shape of a tooth via permanent deformation under a pressure less than about 250,000 Pascals when the delivery system is placed thereagainst. The delivery system also includes an oral care substance applied to the strip of material such that when the delivery system is placed on a surface of the tooth, the substance contacts the surface providing an active onto the surface. The substance also provides adhesive attachment between the strip of material and the surface to hold the delivery system in place for a sufficient time to allow the active to act upon the surface. The substance has an extrusion resistance sufficient to withstand a normal force applied to deform the strip of material so that the substance is not substantially extruded from between the strip of material and the surface during manual deformation of the strip of material.

  • Patent number: 5181850
Abstract: A supporting mechanical connecting element of metal or the like high-strength material, preferably for the medical and dental field, is formed so that the connecting element and/or the receiving element is coated with a hydrolysis-stable bond-assisting layer undergoing a hydrolysis-stable chemical or physical-chemical bond with the material of the receiving element. In order to improve the mechanical retention the connecting element being used for anchoring has a cylindrical shaft, a circular portion conically tapering towards the free end and a circular, in cross section U-shaped recess extending from the free end inwardly, whereby this form is chosen so that it results in a tension reduction.

  • Patent number: 4668192
Abstract: The present invention is provided to render quality orthodontic treatment, with proper dispersion of the patient's teeth roots in the supporting medium. The present system involves procedure which establishes and records the location of the patient's individual tooth roots to the visual crowns of the associated teeth. This is accomplished by use of simulated root structures that are attachable to individual crown models of the patient's teeth and oriented in relation to the models such that the axes of the associated roots are made accessible. The individual simulated root structures may be attached to crown models taken from a direct impression from the patient's mouth. The individual crown models are aligned in a surveyor mechanism and attached with their long axes in coaxial alignment with the central axes of dop rods. The dop rods are then held on a grinding rack and moved toward a flat grinding surface which produces a plane flat surface on each crown model.
