Having Dovetail, "t", Pinhead, Or Bulbous Protrusion Extending Into Congruent Recess In Facing Patents (Class 433/209)
  • Patent number: 6667112
Abstract: Dental restorations are fabricated using metal powder. Preferably, the metal powder is a high fusing metal and preferably, the metal powder comprises a non-oxidizing metal. The metal powder is applied to a die and is covered with a covering material such as a refractory die material preferably in the form of a flowable paste. A second covering material may be sprinkled or dusted onto the paste. The model is then dried prior to firing. After drying, the model is sintered to provide a high strength metal restoration. After sintering, the outer shell can be broken off easily with one's hand to expose the sintered coping.

  • Patent number: 5575651
Abstract: A module useful for forming a foundation for a dental prosthesis, the module including at least one each of (a) a post and (b) an extension unit, the post having a threaded end adapted to anchor the post into rigid dental materials such as tooth stubs or bone matrix, and a second retaining end for engaging the extension unit. The extension unit comprises an engaging end to engage the retaining end of the post, and one or two leaves extending from the engaging end transversely from the post. The engaging end is so sized and shaped as to maintain a sloppy fit with the retaining end of the post. The sloppy fit permits a minor, constrained degree of rotation of the extension unit with respect to the post. At least two such modules can be used to form the foundation for a rigid prosthetic dental bridge; at least one of the extending leaves on each module is so formed as to be capable of coupling with one of the extending leaves on a second such module.

  • Patent number: 5064731
Abstract: A dental prosthesis comprises an inner layer portion and an outer layer portion. The outer layer portion is a dental porcelain material, while the inner layer portion is a sintered product which, after sintering, is composed of:(i) 40 to 95% by weight of one or (two or) more electric conductive ceramic materials selected from the group consisting of nitride ceramics, boride ceramics and carbide ceramics, all having a specific electric resistance of 10.sup.-1 .OMEGA..multidot.cm or below, and(ii) 5 to 60% by weight of the following (A) and/or (B):(A) a dental porcelain material, and(B) one or (two or) more metals selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Au, Pt, Pd, Ag, In and Sn.
