Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing an individualized dental impression tray and to one such impression tray, wherein a digital impression tray model of an individualized impression tray is created on the basis of a digital jaw model, the impression tray model has a carrier with at least one inner surface which at least partially corresponds to a negative form of the jaw model, at least one surface subregion on the inner surface is marked by hand or automatically detected, a retaining structure is arranged above and/or below the surface subregion, the impression tray model is stored with the retaining structure as a production template, and the impression tray is produced by machining according to the production template.

Abstract: Maxillary and mandibular appliances can be mounted to a user's upper and lower jaws. The appliances can include a palatal pad, buccal tubes, hamular notch tubes, and an anterior deprogrammer. The various portions of the appliances can provoke beneficial reactions by muscles in the tongue and jaw area, massage the same muscles, or provide other beneficial effects.

Abstract: A mouth cooler is provided. The mouth cooler comprises a first peripheral cooling winding shaped and dimensioned to cool the lower and upper jaw, and at least one second cooling winding in arrangement with the peripheral cooling winding shaped and dimensioned to cool at least the blood entry to the tongue.

Abstract: Drug delivery devices and systems are disclosed that allow precise, controlled drug delivery via the oral palatal mucosa. The drug delivery devices can be easily used by a patient or other user, and reduce the likelihood of (or in some cases eliminate) dilution of the drug by saliva and fluids and inadvertent swallowing or unplanned uptake of the drug by the patient. The drug delivery devices include a body shaped to conform to a user's palate, and cavities in a palate-facing surface of the body that are configured to receive a drug in liquid form.

Abstract: A field-customizable inflatable purge dam apparatus for welding includes first and/or second inflatable purge bladders. A bridge conduit extends between the purge bladders. First and second quick-disconnect couplers are provided for detachably connecting the bridge conduit to the first and second purge bladders, respectively. The quick-disconnect couplers allow the bridge conduit to be selectively attached to, and detached from, one or both of the first and second purge bladders. The purge dam apparatus can be field-customized by combining the bridge conduit with one or more different purge bladders. Alternatively, the purge bladders may be selectively combined with one or more different bridge conduits. In another aspect, one end of the bridge conduit may be detachably connected to a single inflatable purge bladder, and the other end of the bridge conduit may be adapted to connect to a purge gas source. Various purge dam apparatus sub-assemblies may also be provided.

Abstract: The invention provides a biological dressing for treatment of a dermatological disease comprised of one or more resins or other film-forming agents, a topically acceptable volatile solvent, and a pharmacologically active agent. The combined one or more resins are present in a suitable amount such that the composition, when the solvent evaporates, will dry to form a solid coating that sticks to the skin, nail or mucosal membrane to which the composition is applied, and maintain the pharmacologically active agent over a sustained period of time in contact with sites on the skin or mucosal membranes exhibiting symptoms of the disease. Methods are provided for treating symptoms of dermatological diseases with such a pharmacological composition.

Abstract: A teeth whitening apparatus and a method of teeth whitening is provided. The apparatus includes one or more thermoelectric device(s) which may be in the form of peltier devices adapted to be placed in the mouth. The or each thermoelectric device has one side that heats up and another side that is cooled when an electrical current is passed through the or each device. The or each thermoelectric device is preferably molded into a mouth guard into which a teeth whitening composition is placed such that the heat generated by the or each thermoelectric device activates the teeth whitening composition. The one or more thermoelectric device(s) are preferably powered by one or more batteries. Preferably, the one or more thermoelectric device(s) are coupled to one or more heat sinks such that the heat produced by the one or more thermoelectric device(s) is spread out over the teeth to be whitened.

Abstract: An oral therapeutic apparatus and a method of using the oral device for treating a patient undergoing a chemotherapy treatment are disclosed wherein the oral device is formed to be insertable within the patient's mouth and receive a circulated cooling medium to continuously and uniformly cool the patient's oral tissues including the gums, cheeks, tongue, roof and base of the mouth, to prevent the oral tissues from absorbing the chemotherapy agent to thereby prevent inflammation and oral sores.

Abstract: A mold for taking impressions of the teeth including a substantially U-shaped bottom plate having a bottom surface which is bordered by an inner defining wall and an outer defining wall and a cover member including a perforated bottom. The cover member preferably is received within the bottom plate and separated from a bottom thereof by a spacer including an upwardly opening channel that registers with the perforations. Formed between the bottom part of the cover member and the bottom surface of the bottom plate are channels which function to conduct coolant through the mold. The mold is preferably made from a plastic material.

Abstract: A self-contained apparatus which includes a liquid reservoir and a liquid supply conduit and a liquid return conduit to the reservoir. The liquid is to be supplied to an exterior structure for changing the temperature of the exterior structure. The reservoir is to be removable from the apparatus to facilitate filling of the reservoir.
