Abstract: A light curing dental system comprising a light emitting tray that precisely distributes an optimal amount of curing light energy to internal, external and extra oral portions of the dental arch to cure a dental material. The light curing dental system generally includes a light source, a light emitting dental tray, an activation module and a photocurable dental material.

Abstract: A finger rest clip, a method of using a finger rest clip and a system for taking an impression of a tooth structure are described, the finger rest clip including an attachment portion which fits over a flange of a dental impression tray and a finger rest portion which extends outwardly from the flange at an angle. The finger rest is designed to prevent the fingers a dentist from being bitten as the dental impression tray is positioned in the mouth of a patient. Two or more finger rest clips are used on the dental impression tray in opposing positions on the flange to enable balanced positioning. The finger rest clips have an attachment part which conforms to the shape of the flange, and may have gripping features. The attachment part and/or the finger rest may be covered with a hydrophilic coating or a biocompatible coating.

Abstract: A dental impression that includes an underside and a connecting part. The underside has a negative form of at least one partial area of a jaw and at least one implant site located in the partial area of the jaw. The connecting part is a recess arranged on an upper surface of the dental impression opposite the underside in the area of the negative form of the implant site, and has a longitudinal axis defined along a depth direction of the recess. The recess has a geometry that is rotationally asymmetric about the longitudinal axis, and an external contour of the connecting part is asymmetrical in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the connecting part. The connecting part has a lowered base as a depth stop, the lowered base being within the recess and below the upper surface of the dental impression.

Abstract: An oral appliance may be used to stabilize a subject during radiation therapy. The body of the oral appliance may be configured to be secured within the subject's mouth in an as-used position. A handle of the oral appliance may extend from the subject's mouth during use. The body may comprise a first portion configured to engage maxillary teeth, a second portion configured to engage mandibular teeth, a tongue positioning component, and/or other components. The tongue positioning component may be configured to receive the subject's tongue when the oral appliance is in the as-used position and to facilitate positioning the subject's tongue in a predetermined location and/or orientation with respect to the oral appliance when in use. One or both of the first portion or second portion may be configured to displace corresponding mandibular teeth or maxillary teeth away from the body and/or tongue positioning component in the as-used position.

Abstract: A handle for removably attaching to a moldable orthosis positions the orthosis in boiling water. The handle includes an arm with an oral orthosis engaging member at one end. The engaging member includes one of a tab or slot which removably engages the oral orthosis. In a preferred embodiment, the arm further includes a hook-like member for supporting the oral orthosis on the rim of a container of boiling water during the molding process. In one embodiment, the handle forms the cover of a storage case for the orthosis.

Abstract: A dental impression tray, a kit, and method of using the same are provided for taking an impression of at least a portion of a dental structure of a patient. The tray can include a tray portion, fiduciary markers, and can also have a holding section with two opposing sides and fasteners disposed thereon. The kit can include the tray and a handle portion. The handle can be removably secured to the holding section of the tray. In some embodiments, the handle can include a pair of handle portions. In other embodiments, a part of the handle can be aligned with a facial feature of a patient from whom a dental impression is to be obtained.

Abstract: A method and systems for capturing digital intra-oral images, while automatically determining a location of an intra-oral sensor placed within a mouth of a patient, is disclosed. A spatial frame-of-reference is established with respect to teeth within the mouth of the patient. An intra-oral digital imaging sensor is placed within the mouth of the patient adjacent to at least one tooth within the mouth that is to be imaged using the intra-oral sensor. Spatial location information is automatically generated such that the spatial location information defines how the intra-oral sensor is placed with respect to the spatial frame-of-reference. A digital image of the at least one tooth is acquired using the intra-oral sensor and the spatial location information is automatically associated with the acquired digital image.

Abstract: A dental impression tray having a pair of spaced and outwardly flared sidewalls with a layer of material, such as gauze, netting, plastic or the like, or a rigid material, extending perpendicularly between the sidewalls. The sidewalls, furthermore, are dimensioned to extend substantially a one-half arch of a dental occlusion. The layer of material, however, extends outwardly from one end of the sidewalls so that the layer extends substantially a three-quarters of an arch of a dental occlusion. The dental impression tray is easily convertible between a one-half arch and a three-quarters arch of a dental occlusion by selectively removing the outwardly extending portion of the layer material. Additionally, a frame connects the sidewalls together while a notch in the frame enables the sidewalls to deflect upon occlusion and remain in a deflected position. Optionally, the sidewalls are eliminated.

Abstract: A dental impression tray and bite registration rim assembly comprises an impression tray, a handle and a bite registration rim. The handle and the bite registration rim are both detachably attachable to the impression tray. The connection elements between the handle and the bite registration rim to the impression tray may be the same or different. The handle is attached to the impression tray to facilitate taking of a precise gum impression, but is detached and replaced by the bite registration rim when taking a bite registration. Thus, a precise gum and bite registration may be conveniently taken in a single visit of the patient.

Abstract: A dental impression paper tray comprising a material mainly composed of pulp which is compressed molded to a dental impression tray shape having a thickness of 0.5-10 mm. Minute concavities/convexities may be formed at least on the inner surface of the paper dental impression tray. Paraffin wax may be dispersingly included in the tray or coated on the surface of the tray. A handle of the tray may be integrally attached to a dish portion by insertion or adhesion. Since the tray is made of paper and is less expensive, it can be domestically disposed with an incinerator as a disposal tray. Further, the tray having the minute concavities/convexities has an increased holding force to an impression material. The tray to or in which paraffin wax is coated or contained has increased water resistance.

Abstract: A dental impression tray made of plastic is proposed to be used in a disposable manner. The dental impression tray includes a tray body for securely holding a mold material, and a handle which is separately prepared and adapted to be connected with the tray body when in use. The handle is separated from the frame body while in storage, so that they can be separately stacked with less bulkiness in storage. The tray body and the handle are provided with a locking means which can securely connect the tray body and the handle into one unit.
