  • Patent number: 10147338
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a gas training system with a computing device or server coupled to a mapping component and a virtual leak detector. The virtual leak detector is configured to communicate at least one location or GPS position data. A trainee device or good is coupled with the virtual leak detector discoverable by the computing device or server. A coupled non-transitory computer readable medium can cause the computing device or server to retrieve a map and/or image from the mapping component representing an actual training area or location. Further, based at least in part on the location or GPS position data received from the virtual leak detector, the map or map image is displayed with a representation of the trainee device or good positioned based at least in part on the actual physical location of the at least one trainee device or good.

  • Patent number: 10083235
Abstract: Search engines today are capable of incorporating numeric scoring modifiers from controlling applications into their relevance computations. Challenges arise in keeping these modifiers current, given that they may change over time. Embodiments provide a new way to compute numeric value decay for efficient relevance computation without having to rely on a controlling application. The controlling application can set a value for a modifier of an object managed by the controlling application and the controlling application can perform operations on the modifier. However, the controlling application does not need to keep track of the modifier and compute the modifier value independently. Rather, a search engine is configured to perform decay computation(s) and adjust the modifier value on a regular basis or on demand. The search engine ensures that modifier values for all the objects indexed by the search engine are always valid—within acceptable ranges and with acceptable adjustments.

  • Patent number: 9996618
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for locating relevant content items across multiple disparate content sources. Query parameters are received from a user interface for defining a query for searching a number of content sources located on multiple, disparate content servers. A native search is executed on each of the content servers based on the received query parameters, and query statistics and other data regarding content items in the content sources matching the query parameters are received. The query statistics are aggregated across the content servers and presented in the user interface. The presentation of the query statistics may be broken out by each content source, by each query phrase segmented from the query, and the like. In addition, a preview of a number of content items matching the query parameters is presented based on the data received.

  • Patent number: 9952656
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and corresponding apparatus to enable a user of a display system to manipulate holographic objects. Multiple holographic user interface objects capable of being independently manipulated by a user are displayed to the user, overlaid on a real-world view of a 3D physical space in which the user is located. In response to a first user action, the holographic user interface objects are made to appear to be combined into a holographic container object that appears at a first location in the 3D physical space. In response to the first user action or a second user action, the holographic container object is made to appear to relocate to a second location in the 3D physical space. The holographic user interface objects are then made to appear to deploy from the holographic container object when the holographic container object appears to be located at the second location.

Abstract: Embodiments link external widgets to internal data displayed being within a dashboard as part of a story. An interface allows selecting external widget(s) based upon matching with a parameter of internal data being accessed. A user may define in an interactive manner, the behavior of the external widget in terms of characteristics such as data rendering, configurable fields, update behavior, and/or access to external sources (e.g., authentication). In an example, internal geographic dashboard data may serve as a basis for accessing external data such as social media data via a custom widget searching relevant messages combined with keywords (e.g., referring to geography). An external widget may be linked to other (internal/external) widgets through a linking table, such that changed/updated data is propagated for display within the dashboard. External widgets may thus be linked to data currently being viewed in terms of chart selection, data highlighting and data filtering mechanisms.

Abstract: Contact center strived to provide needed skills in close proximity to an anticipated demand for the skills. Skills may be needed to replace agents that are reassigned or that are no longer agents of the contact center. Training and recruitment of agents represents a significant investment in time money and other agents for a contact center. Determining a trajectory for a particular candidate to acquire the needed skill, at a point before the contact center fully invests in training, allows the agent to be excluded from future training should the agent not perform as expected were in the performance is measured at least one midpoint towards acquisition of the needed skill. As a benefit, agents can be directed towards acquiring the needed skills from other sources.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for determining whether a text is deceptive may comprise analyzing a body of textual content known to be one of text containing true content and text containing deceptive content; identifying psycho-linguistic cues that are indicative of a text being deceptive; statistically analyzing, via a computing device, a given text based upon the psycho-linguistic cues to determine if the text is deceptive. The apparatus and method may further comprise weighting the psycho-linguistic cues and statistically analyzing based on the weighted psycho-linguistic cues. The statistically analyzing step may be performed using one of a cue matching analysis, a weighted cue matching analysis, a Markov chain analysis, and a sequential probability ratio testing binary hypothesis analysis. The psycho-linguistic cues may be separated into categories, including increasing trend cues and decreasing trend cues and analyzed according to presence in a category from within the categories.

Abstract: A trainable skill practice planning and reporting system generates a practice plan to use in training a student to improve in the performance of trainable skills associated with an activity, such as an athletic activity. The system tracks the student's performance statistics, uses those statistics to determine trainable skills, and compares the student's performance of those skills to target values. The target values may be determined by past performance, goals, peers or benchmarks. Through comparison of actual performance to target values, the system determines the skills having the largest separation between current skill level and target skill value. The system then selects practice drills from a library of drills to most effectively train the student to improve performance of the skills that are most lacking.
