Abstract: A system and method for displaying furniture in a showroom environment. A plurality of furniture pieces are displayed in a room setting having a plurality of walls to create the impression of a partially enclosed space. Adjacent room settings can have a transparent panel, such as a mesh screen or Plexiglas sheet, placed between them as a divider to simulate a wall, yet still enable the consumer to see through the transparent panel to view the furniture in either room. A large scale photographic image of the furniture in the room setting shows the same furniture pieces in actual use. The photographic image is mounted on a room wall generally behind and in proximity to the displayed furniture. A portal can be positioned at a front end of the room setting to simulate an entryway and to provide separation between other areas of the showroom floor. The portal is a free-standing structure that can be relocated easily.

Abstract: A schematic patch panel includes an enlargement of a customer's floor plan that is dry mounted to a piece of foam-core board or located on a stainless steel panel. The board is mounted in a frame that can be configured with a clear, locking cover for security purposes. The entire assembly is mounted on the customer's wall by brackets. At each of the computer wall outlet locations depicted on the floor plan, a double-sided RJ-45 panel jack is inserted through the floor plan. These panel jacks snap into the floor plan, requiring no other means of fastening. Any wall outlet depicted on the schematic patch panel is activated by connecting a telephone-type extension cable between the network central controller and that wall outlet icon. By this transfer, a different unshielded twisted pair cable connection line is activated and the individualized identifiers and other information particular to a certain terminal are also transferred.

Abstract: A countertop sink illustrator and method utilize a photographic process to image a selected sink and countertop to produce an image corresponding to the image area surrounding and including the sink as well as the sink opening portion of a countertop. An illustrator includes a substrate having a front surface upon which a full-size color reproduction image of the imaged area including the sink, sink opening, and surrounding countertop portion is supported upon one surface thereof. The reverse surface of the substrate supports a dimensional drawing having appropriate dimensional information relating to the sink opening an sink structure for use by the consumer in determining the size requirements of the particular sink. A clear laminate formed of a pair of clear plastic laminations is secured to the substrate surfaces to provide a protective supporting enclosure.

The table setting display guide includes a first page which illustrates at least one table setting having an opening at the position where a dinnerware plate would be set. A second page is provided which illustrates a plurality of dinnerware plate patterns, which patterns are sized to correspond to the size of the opening in the first page. The opening in the first page is selectively positionable on the second page to permit viewing of each dinnerware plate pattern in conjunction with the table setting.

Abstract: Biological agents such as secretory cells are encapsulated in a hydrophilic gel made of agarose or collagen-agarose and gelatin sponge-agarose combinations. In a preferred embodiment, semi-solid beads are formed from a suspension containing collagen, agarose and secretory cells such as pancreatic islets, the collagen is polymerized to form solid, agarose-collagen beads and the solid beads are coated with agarose. Coating is preferably by rolling the solid beads in about 5-10% agarose, contacting the rolled beads with mineral oil and washing oil from the beads. Beads containing secretory cells can be transplanted into a mammal to treat a condition caused by impaired secretory cell function.
