  • Patent number: 11587319
Abstract: Implementations described herein relate to methods, devices, and computer-readable media to perform gating for video analysis. In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes obtaining a video comprising a plurality of frames and corresponding audio. The method further includes performing sampling to select a subset of the plurality of frames based on a target frame rate and extracting a respective audio spectrogram for each frame in the subset of the plurality of frames. The method further includes reducing resolution of the subset of the plurality of frames. The method further includes applying a machine-learning based gating model to the subset of the plurality of frames and corresponding audio spectrograms and obtaining, as output of the gating model, an indication of whether to analyze the video to add one or more video annotations.

  • Patent number: 11481262
Abstract: A scaling manager manages deques that track groups of preinitialized instances used to scale respective groups of active compute instances. Various techniques for deque management include a rate-based technique that uses a historical scale-up rate for a particular group and adjusts the size of the deque of preinitialized instances for that group based on the monitored scale-up rate and based on an instance preinitialization time for instances for that group. A total instance quantity may be bounded, in some examples, and an additional “buffer amount” of preinitialized instances may be implemented to provide a safety margin for burst scaling, which can be further enhanced by transferring instances between data structures of different groups of instances in some cases.

  • Patent number: 8100697
Abstract: A portable, retractable writing surface device provides a writing surface that may be extended from a housing and held sufficiently flat by the device to facilitate marking on the writing surface with a writing implement, such as a dry-erase marker, chalk, grease crayon, pencil, pen, permanent marker or the like. The device maintains sufficient rigidity in the extended writing surface, such that the device may be used without an additional support surface, such as a clip board or table. The writing surface may be retracted back into the housing to protect the writing surface and to reduce the size of the device for storage or transport, such as within a pocket or briefcase. Retracting the writing surface may include rolling the writing surface onto a spool, accordion folding the writing surface or otherwise reconfiguring the writing surface to make it fit into a compact space (collectively referred to herein as “compressing” the writing surface).

Abstract: A motivational, inspirational apparatus that is both functional and decorative. Has a base varying is size, shape and composition, with one step. Multiple holes at equal distance are placed on the top of the base. Posts of varying materials are inserted into the holes on top of the base. Tops of varying shapes, materials and textures are placed atop the posts and rotate 360 degrees. When placed atop the posts they look like a lollipop or ping pong paddle. Stickers of varying materials are with specific motivational and inspirational words related to actions, projects, and life situations are adhered to the tops for daily inspirational and motivational reference. When actions are accomplished, the top is turned 180 degrees. In the morning, all tops are again turned with the event words facing forward to address each action in the new day.
