  • Patent number: 6254406
Abstract: A flexible board electrical connector includes a housing with two integral lower barb elements, and a front cover, which rotates on the housing between open and closed positions. Each of the lower barb elements has a vertical plate portion, and a lateral projection that extends laterally from an upper end of the vertical plate portion. When the cover is at the closed position, two retaining projections of the cover engage the lateral projections of the housing, thereby preventing upward removal of the retaining projections of the cover from the housing. The cover has two integral pivot pins on two end portions thereof, which are mounted respectively and rotatably within two accommodating spaces in the housing. Preferably, the housing further includes two integral upper barb elements, each of which has a horizontal plate portion, and a downward projection that extends downwardly from a front end of the horizontal plate portion into an inlet of a pivot accommodating space in the housing.

  • Patent number: 6179634
Abstract: A cover assembly for a floor box includes a ring, a cover, and a gasket. The ring is configured to support an electrical receptacle within an open upper end portion of the floor box. The cover has an access opening for providing access to the receptacle, and has an access door for closing the access opening. The ring, the cover and the gasket are configured for interconnection in installed positions in which a portion of the gasket is deflected into an annular configuration interposed radially between the ring and the cover. When the gasket is thus installed between the ring and the cover, the edge portion of the gasket establishes a seal that surrounds the access opening in the cover. Additionally, the cover has apertures for receiving fasteners that interconnect the ring, the cover, and the gasket in their installed positions. The access door is configured to overlie all of those apertures, and thereby to conceal all of those fasteners from view, when the door is in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 5662236
Abstract: In a waterproof case in which a hood (1) contains a connector (P) to prevent the connector from being exposed to water, a cap (4) is for closing an opening portion 10a of the hood and has an end which is rotatably held to the hood through a mounting linkage (5) so that the opening portion can be opened and closed one at a time. A lever (6) is rotatably mounted to the hood at an end thereof. A locking linkage (7) is rotatably mounted at an end thereof to an intermediate portion which is between both ends of the lever. When the lever is rotated by operating the other end with the other end of the locking linkage engaged with the other end of the cap in the state of closing the opening portion, the cap is kept to a condition in which the opening portion is closed.

  • Patent number: 5609492
Abstract: An electrical connector having a cap rotatable by a link mechanism, there are a connector housing, a first link having a symmetrical structure of both sides of the connector housing and pivoted at the connector housing, a second link having a symmetrical structure of both sides of the connector housing and pivoted at the first link, a cap pivoted at the second link, a sealing member installed at circumference of the cap or a connector on the connector housing, and wherein at least one of the first link and the second link is made of a one piece member. The cap is fitted to a top of the connector housing, and covers the connector to lead into a waterproof state. When an operator pushes up a handle of the second link by his finger, the first link and the second link rotate. Then the cap takes off from the top of the connector housing, and so the connector is ready for electrical connection.

  • Patent number: 5582521
Abstract: A waterproof cap is pivotally mounted for opening and closing at a position near to a connection open portion of a charging connector. The waterproof cap is provided with a stopper member for preventing the opening/closing movement of the waterproof cap at an intermediate stop position during an opening stroke of the cap. At least one of the stopper member and a portion against which the stopper member can abut is resiliently deformable. The stopper member can be contacted with the stopper member-abutting portion in such a condition that the waterproof cap can be held at the intermediate stop position and that because of the above resilient deformation, the stopper member can move into a position beyond the intermediate stop position.
