The converter module includes a housing, a first DC link circuit terminal, and a capacitance arranged in the housing and connected to the first DC link circuit terminal and to the converter circuit and serving for stabilizing a DC voltage present at the first DC link circuit terminal. The converter module includes a second DC link circuit terminal, which is connected to the capacitance and to the first DC link circuit terminal, wherein the first and second DC link circuit terminals are designed for connection to DC link circuit terminals of further converter modules for converting electrical power. An inverter can be formed by at least two converter modules which are connected to one another via a respective one of their DC link circuit terminals.

The second busbar plate includes a capacitor basin that seats therein the capacitor devices. An isolator sheet is interleaved between and electrically insulates the first and second busbar plates.

    Abstract: A spring loaded, bistable connect/disconnect mechanism for a motor control center (MCC) unit 20, provides a secure and quick means to connect and disconnect the stab 30 of a MCC unit to a vertical power bus 24. The low profile mechanism comprises a series of flat links 6, 7, and 11 and an over-center spring 8 in the top of the MCC unit, for efficient use of space. The mechanism provides an additional force to quickly connect and disconnect the stabs to and from the power bus. The mechanism enables safe insertion and removal of the MCC unit from an MCC section, by incorporating interlocks 5 to prevent the MCC unit from being inserted when the stabs are extended and to prevent the MCC unit from being removed when the stabs are extended. Interlocks prevent the extension or retraction of the stabs when the handle is in an ON position.

Optionally, a duct top and duct bottom can be placed on the stack top and stack bottom, respectively. A surge clamp engages the stack top or stack bottom. A bolt attaches the surge clamp to each duct side. A compression nut threadably engages each bolt. Rotation of a bolt moves the corresponding compression nut, which acts to move the surge clamp along a path that is oblique with the path of the compression nut. The surge clamp, when moved by the compression nut(s), acts to apply a compressive force to the busbar stack.
