Patent number: 8251537Abstract: A lamp tube coupler is that an insulation terminal seat is respectively disposed to two ends of an expansible outer cylinder. A pair of electrode coupling members is disposed to each insulation terminal seat. The electrode coupling members corresponding to each other at the two ends of the expansible outer cylinder form a conduction mode through respective springs. While using every lamp tube coupler, the coupler is disposed between the two lamp tubes. The electrode coupling members at two ends are respectively inserted into the electrode sockets of the two lamp tubes to achieve the goal of cascading at least two lamp tubes.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2010Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: Taiwan Oasis Technology Co., LtdInventor: Ming-Shun Lee

Patent number: 8197275Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor device is provided. A semiconductor substrate is etched to form a trench, a gate electrode is buried in the trench, an etch-back process thereon is performed to form a buried gate, and an insulating layer is formed at the entire surface with the trench. Subsequently, an ion implantation process with respect to the entire surface with the insulting layer is carried out, the dose amount in ion-implanted in the insulating layer of an upper portion of the semiconductor substrate is more than that of a sidewall in the trench. Therefore, when an etch process is performed to form a contact during a subsequent procedure, the short between the buried gate and the contact may be prevented using a difference between an etch rate of the insulating layer.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2010Date of Patent: June 12, 2012Assignee: Hynix Semiconductor IncInventor: Jung Nam Kim

Patent number: 7025472Abstract: A coupling element (2) is proposed for the combining of at least two elongate lamps with in each case two ends. For this purpose, the coupling element (2) has a continuous receptacle area which is provided for receiving an end of each lamp. The receptacle area comprises a reflector (6) in order to reduce the luminance decrease in the region between the lamp ends. With one or a plurality of coupling elements according to the invention in conjunction with two or more elongate lamps, illumination systems having different luminous lengths can be realized in a modular manner.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2004Date of Patent: April 11, 2006Assignee: Patent-Treuhand-Gesellschaft für elektrische Gluehlampen mbHInventors: Gerhard Döll, Jörg Rink

Patent number: 5247228Abstract: An adaptor circuit used to enable stable, flicker-free operation of T8-type fluorescent lamps in a lighting fixture which already has a standard two-lamp, series-sequence, 40 watt, rapid-start type ballast installed therein. The adaptor circuit contains an isolation transformer for controlling the voltage supplied by the ballast to the T8-type fluorescent lamps and a frequency selective impedance modifier circuit for controlling the operating current supplied by the ballast to the T8-type fluorescent lamps at preselected frequencies. In one embodiment, the frequency selective impedance modifier circuit substantially eliminates the third harmonic component of the fundamental frequency of the operating current.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 1992Date of Patent: September 21, 1993Assignee: GTE Products CorporationInventor: William J. Patent number: 4928032Abstract: For converting a lamp with a screw-type base into a lamp with a bi-pin base, there is provided a cup-shaped adapter of electrical insulating material comprising a tubular body containing a bore that has internal threads threadedly receiving the external threads on the usual metal shell of the screw-type base. The adapter further comprises an end wall extending across the bore at one end of the tubular body and carrying two conductive pins extending through the end wall in laterally-spaced relation. First conductor within the adapter connected to one pin has a free end that engages the usual coniform end of the metal shell when the base is threaded into said bore, thereby establishing an electrical connection between the metal shell and said one pin. Second conductor connected to the other pin establishes an electrical connection between the usual eyelet of the base and the other pin when the base is threaded into said bore.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1989Date of Patent: May 22, 1990Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Michael J. Patent number: 4875866Abstract: An improved light socket for use with light bulbs of conventional design and threaded base, has a frame and a cup adapted to accept the light bulb base mounted for longitudinal motion within the frame between a first extended position and a second retracted position. Electrical contacts are provided for establishing electrical continuity with the bulb, the contacts being engaged with the bulb when the cup is in the second, retracted position and disengaged from the bulb when the cup is in the first, extended position. An engagement finger engages the bulb thread when the cup is in the retracted position to retain the bulb in the cup, and releases the bulb when the cup returns to the extended position.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1988Date of Patent: October 24, 1989Inventor: Arnold F. Patent number: 4842535Abstract: A connector for discharge electrodes of luminous gas tubes includes an insulative barrel receiving a power cable at one end for attachment to a fixed end of a resilient contact member. The opposite end of the barrel is open and threaded, to receive the crimped and headed tip of a gas tube having electrode conductors projecting therefrom. A lock element is applied to the crimped portion of the gas tube end and is axially captured thereon so that following insertion of the tube tip and lock element into the barrel open end, a cap surrounding the gas tube engages the threads of the barrel to radially and axially retain the tube tip within the barrel interior with its electrode conductors firmly biased against a displaceable end of the resilient contact member.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1988Date of Patent: June 27, 1989Inventors: David C. Velke, Sr., George P. Marsden, Burton C. Leffingwell
