Patent number: 9705242Abstract: An electrical connector has two portions, a first portion connectable to a device and a second portion having a contact point which is movable in relation to the first portion. The second portion having the contact point comprises a magnet configured to attract the corresponding connector. The contact point does not require a counteracting force, whereby the side magnets may be smaller or the connector may lack the side magnets entirely.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2015Date of Patent: July 11, 2017Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Juuso Heiskanen, Samuli Mäkinen

Patent number: 7850472Abstract: The invention relates to a connector element (1) of an electrical connector, comprising a contact carrier (3) that is provided with one or more electrical contacts (18), an actuation sleeve (4) which surrounds the contact carrier (3), and a threaded engaging part (7) that is provided with one or more engaging thread projections (5) which are to penetrate into a mating thread (6) of a mating connector element (2). The actuation sleeve (4) can be moved from a released position, in which the thread projections (5) do not engage into the mating thread (6) and the connector element (1) can be connected to the mating connector element (2), into a locked position, in which the thread projections (5) engage into the mating thread (6) and the connector element (1) is tied to the mating connector element (2).Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2008Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Assignee: Techpointe S.A.Inventors: Juergen Friedrich, Krystian Kawa

Patent number: 7503788Abstract: A quick-fastening plug and socket arrangement includes a locking sleeve arranged concentrically between the plug and the circular socket opening within which the plug is axially inserted, which locking sleeve includes a resilient projection that is radially biased outwardly into locking engagement with screw threads carried by the inner circumferential surface of the socket opening. Alternatively, the projecting portion is biased radially inwardly for locking engagement with screw threads carried by the outer circumferential surface of the plug member. The sleeve is connected against longitudinal displacement relative to one of the plug and socket members, which sleeve is rotatable relative to the associated plug and socket member, thereby to release the plug for removal from the socket opening.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2007Date of Patent: March 17, 2009Assignee: Weidmuller Interface GmbH & Co. Publication number: 20080207031Abstract: An electrical connector includes an enclosure, a male member, a female member, and an operating member. The enclosure defines an opening in an end thereof. The female member is slidably mounted in the enclosure, and includes a housing defining a plurality of through holes. The male member is fixed in the enclosure, and includes a plurality of pins passing through the through holes of the housing respectively. The operating member is connectable to the female member to be controlled to make the housing of the female member move out of the opening of the enclosure to allow the electrical connector to act as a female type connector; or to make the housing to be retracted in the enclosure, such that the pins extend out of the through holes of the housing to allow the electrical connector to act as a male type connector.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2007Publication date: August 28, 2008Applicants: HONG FU JIN PRECSION INDUSTRY (ShenZhen) CO., LTD., HON HAI PRECISION INDUSTRY CO., LTD.Inventors: XIAO-ZHU CHEN, KE SUN

Patent number: 7364450Abstract: A plug-in connector has a plug member and a locking device for securing the plug member on a counterpart. The locking device has at least one locking element having a release position and a locking position, wherein in the release position the plug member is removable from the counterpart and wherein in the locking position the plug member and the counterpart are locked relative to one another. An actuating element acting on the locking device is provided for moving the at least one locking element from the release position into the locking position in a radial direction relative to a longitudinal axis of the plug member.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2005Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Murr-Elektronik GmbHInventors: Franz Hafner, Andreas Schuffenhauer, Friedemann Junghanns

Patent number: 6267612Abstract: The internally threaded coupling ring or nut of a conventional rotational coupling system is replaced with a multi-tined locking ring that traverses the threads in an axial direction and locks onto the external threads of the mating half. The tines are positioned such that the forces are evenly distributed around the connector periphery and an anti-decoupling sleeve is extended over the tines and arranged such that, when the sleeve is in a first position, tangs extending inwardly from the tines are prevented from escaping the threads of the externally threaded mating half, and such that the sleeve may be pulled in an axial direction to permit the tines to more easily clear the threads and thereby facilitate decoupling.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1999Date of Patent: July 31, 2001Assignee: Amphenol CorporationInventors: Robert R. Patent number: 4941846Abstract: A quick connect/disconnect coaxial connector is described which can be used with unmodified standard coaxial couplings having externally-facing threads. The connector includes a coaxial line segment that is mounted inside a housing body. The latter has movable fingers with inwardly-facing ridges that interlock with the external thread of a coaxial coupling. The coaxial line segment interfits with the coupling for a microwave connection and is movably mounted with respect to the housing body. A sleeve having a cam surface is mounted over the housing body whereby, in a forward position, the fingers are caused to close on a coupling and interlock with its thread while in a rearward position, the fingers are allowed to release from the coupling. The coaxial line segment is spring biased so as to normally urge the fingers towards their release position and into coaxial abutment with a coupling when the fingers are interlocked with the coupling's external thread by the sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1989Date of Patent: July 17, 1990Assignee: Adams-Russell Electronic Company, Inc.Inventors: Ronald Guimond, Anthony Martiniello, David W.
