An elastic pressing force of the elastic hold-down piece (38) prevents housings (10) and (20) from shaking at an angle to the fit-in direction. The delatch mechanism can include a spring system that returns the wedges to their pockets for latching, allows movement of the wedges relative to the module for lifting of the tab, and locks into the module to pull the module free of the cage. Handles for the latch mechanism can include a bail, a flexible tab, or fixed handle that is part of an integrated structure including the wedges.

The igniter slides into a hole through the adapter and is retained by an enlarged head on the igniter. The cable connector is secured to the adapter, for example, by either a clamp assembly or a coupling nut or a quick release connector. As the cable connector is secured to the adapter, the seal is compressed between the igniter and connector insulators and, optionally, the connector terminal is rotated and pressed against the igniter terminal to establish a reliable electrical contact. The connector and igniter terminals preferably have mating conical or spherical surfaces, one of which may be an annular segment to provide an increased electrical contact area.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a clamping device which comprises a U-shaped spring secured to a spring retainer in a pivotable manner. The spring retainer is a sub-assembly which consists of two plates forming a slot when sandwiched together to accommodate the spring. The two plates associated with the retainer assembly accommodate a rotatable bolt or screw which screw is directed into a compression stop assembly. A bracket is mounted to the appropriate waveguide flange. This bracket contains an aperture to accommodate a projecting end of the spring. The mating waveguide flanges are clamped in place by adjusting the captive screw which serves to deflect the U-spring completing the clamping action. The unit, as described in the specification, contains two U-shaped springs both of which are coupled to a central spring retaining unit and can operate to connect or disconnect two separate waveguide sections.

The actuator slides on a guide means having a front planar surface and a rear planar surface higher than the front planar surface, the two planar surfaces connected by a ramp in a transition area. In the forward position, the actuator compresses the jaws together on the surfaces of the flat electrode to tightly hold the electrode in a locked conductive connection, and simple finger movement of the actuator releases the electrode.
