Patent number: 11942716Abstract: A configurable electrical connector. The electrical connector includes conductors held by a housing. Contact tails of the conductors extend from a mounting face of the housing therethrough. The mounting face of the housing includes a slot. In some embodiments, the slot exposes portions of ground conductors of the connector and receives a member coupled with the exposed portions of the ground conductors such that the electrical connector can meet high performance requirements. The member may be inserted into or molded in the slot. In some embodiments, the slot may or may not receive a member that is insulative when the electrical connector does not need to meet the high performance requirements. Such a configuration enables the same connector to be compatible with multiple performance protocols.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Amphenol Commercial Products (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.Inventors: Bing Liu, Yaohua Hou, Tao Zeng

Patent number: 11552433Abstract: An electrical connector is disclosed. The electrical connector has a casing, a terminal seat and a conductive plastic element. The terminal seat is mounted in the casing and has an insulator board and a terminal set. The terminal set has a ground terminal and a high-speed signal terminal set. One side of the conductive plastic element is mounted on an inner wall of the casing and another side thereof passes through the insulator board to be close to the high-speed signal terminal set. When the casing is electrically connected to a ground, the conductive plastic element is electrically connected to the ground through the casing. Therefore, the conductive plastic element may eliminate a noise interference caused by the high-speed signal terminal set during high-speed transmission. A crosstalk and a common-mode interference are also reduced to keep the stability of signal transmission of the electrical connector.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2021Date of Patent: January 10, 2023Assignee: ACES ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventors: Rong-Hsun Kuo, Chang-Ho Teng, Chia-Sheng Liang

Patent number: 8295513Abstract: Audio cables used in deploying audio equipment are typically selected to minimize signal transmission losses and may be chosen based on a distance between, and terminations of, an amplifier system and a loudspeaker system. Since this is usually unknown prior to deployment, multiple audio cables with different sizes and terminations and a variety of electrical extension cords to connect to a power supply line are transported. A loudspeaker adapter for the loudspeaker system and an amplifier adapter for the amplifier system can be used to interconnect the two systems via electrical extension cords. This precludes the need for transporting a large number of audio cables, and allows for interconnecting the loudspeaker and the amplifier systems without prior knowledge of the distance between the systems. Safety hazards and component damage can also be minimized by not connecting a hot terminal in the AC connectors of the loudspeaker and amplifier adapters.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 2009Date of Patent: October 23, 2012Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Steven Berman
