Flexibly Tensioned Strap Patents (Class 439/420)
  • Patent number: 7677914
Abstract: A string light engine includes a plurality of LEDs, a plurality of IDC connectors, and an insulated flexible conductor. Each IDC connector is in electrical communication with at least one of the plurality of LEDs and is operatively mechanically connected to at least one of the plurality of LEDs. The IDC connectors attach to the conductor.

  • Publication number: 20070270020
Abstract: A flexible flat connector cable electrical contact including a first connection section adapted to be connected to an electrical conductor of a flexible flat conductor (FFC) cable; and a second connection section electrical coupled to the first connection section and adapted to be electrically connected to another member. The first connection section includes at least one staple feature having a hole and only two outwardly extending lances at the hole. Each lance has a pointed tip adapted to pierce through the electrical conductor of the FFC cable. The lances are adapted to be deformed back towards the electrical conductor to form a stapled connection of the first connection section to the FFC cable with only the two lances at the staple feature.

  • Patent number: 6186822
Abstract: A lamp socket with a pull string switch includes a socket body, a screw base, and a pull string switch combined in the socket body. The improved feature is two power lead protectors formed on an upper end surface of the socket body for separating two power leads so that the power lead protectors may hamper accidental force of pulline the power leads from directly transmitted to connect points of the power leads. Thus the connect points may not disconnected from the terminals or become badly connected with the terminals, keeping good quality of the power leads in transmitting electricity and safety of using electricity.

  • Patent number: 4885728
Abstract: A wrist band connector constructed from a sheet of deformable, electrically conductive material having tabs at both ends capable of being folded around a wrist band and an electrical connection mechanism mechanically and electrically attached to the sheet between the tabs and providing an electrical connection point for an electrical cable, as for example, an electrical ground cord. An outer insulative layer may be provided and tangs may be formed into the tabs to provide additional assurance that intimate electrical contact will be made with the interior surface of the wrist band onto which the wrist band connector is installed.

  • Patent number: 4840583
Abstract: An improved jumper cable organization is presented wherein illuminated indication is included to discourage improper connection of the improved jumper cable apparatus to associated batteries. A first embodiment of the invention includes a clamp securable to a jumper cable electrical conductive line wherein a spike is electrically associated with a plurality of LED units such that the spike electrically associated with an associated clamp may be contacted to a remaining terminal of a battery once the three remaining jumper cable clamps are secured to indicate appropriate polarity connection of the jumper cable organization. A second embodiment positions the plural LED elements within the handle of a battery connective clamp where an electrically isolated probe may be contacted to the remaining battery terminal for indication of appropriate polarity. The aforenoted LED elements with inappropriate connection of the jumper cables of the instant invention will illuminate to indicate an inappropriate polarity.

  • Patent number: 4696908
Abstract: A grounding strap 10 for terminating the outer conductor 24 of an electrical cable. The grounding strap can include a plurality of outwardly convex surface portions 17 between adjacent pairs of prongs 16 which are flattened upon clamping of the strap 10 to the cable, causing the prongs 16a, 16b of each pair 16 to turn toward one another to retain the outer conductor 24 firmly therebetween. The grounding strap 10 is preferably cut to any desired length from a strip of continuous length for mounting to cables of any diameter, and does not require cutting of the cable or other initial preparation of the cable.
