    Abstract: A connector assembly includes a socket connector with a transformer circuit and a plug connector that is releasably fit to the socket connector. The plug connector includes a slidable power switch containing a magnet and a magnetic detection element that detects the magnetic field of the magnet. When the slidable power switch changes position to bring the magnet close to the magnetic detection element, a closed circuit is formed and a power supply is activated. When the magnet is moved away from the magnetic detection element, the circuit is open and the power supply is cut off. The plug connector has a front end with a rotatable water-tight collar. The socket connector includes a closure cap arranged at an end for temporarily engaging an external thread of the socket connector in order to protect the assembly when the socket connector is engaged with the plug connector.

    Abstract: A communication port identification system enables an intelligent interconnect patch panel to reliably track connections to network switches. Network switch ports are provided with port ID modules that are inserted into the ports. Intelligent interconnect patch cords each utilize a patch cord microcontroller and out-of-band conductors to enable communication between an intelligent interconnect patch panel and the port ID modules of the switch port. Each port ID module is provided with a unique identification number, and the intelligent interconnect patch panel is thereby able to track all of its connections to the port ID modules in real time, and to update a network management system accordingly.

    Abstract: A galvanic ground isolator adapter protects against galvanic corrosion on a boat when a boat power system is connected to a shore power system. A ground isolation assembly in the ground connection between the two system grounds prevents current from passing between the two system grounds when the voltage difference between the two is low. When the voltage difference exceeds a preset value, the ground connection is established. The adapter is entirely contained within a rigid housing with a male plug at one end and a female socket at the other end. In this form it can be simply connected to a power cord that is normally used in connecting the shore and boat power systems. It may be provided with a locking mechanism that prevents it being removed once it is attached. It may be supplied with a sonic alarm to indicate when current is flowing in the ground connection.

    Abstract: Interlocking modular connectors or headers Have flexible tongue and groove structures for forming a variety of header assembly configurations. The interlocking modular headers can have locking structures in addition to the tongue and groove mating structures for permanently interlocking the modular headers together. The locking structures can include opposing ramps having locking surfaces that engage each other and prevent sliding disengagement of the modular headers in one direction and the grooves can include stop members to prevent sliding disengagement in the opposite direction. The tongues and grooves can have a dovetail shaped cross-section to allow some freedom of lateral movement between the interlocking modular headers in order for ramps to slide over each other and cause locking surfaces to engage and also to provide some independent flexibility to facilitate placement onto a mounting component and to withstand elevated temperatures.
