Abstract: A device useful with electrical appliances having a plug for insertion in an electrical power outlet. In addition to an electrical power outlet having a receptacle for transmitting power to an electrical plug, the device includes a standby receptacle having openings for receiving an electrical cord plug. The standby receptacle is insulated to prevent transmission of electrical energy to the electrical cord plug when it is inserted therein. The device is fixedly mounted on the standby receptacle at a point proximate the electrical power outlet. The electrical cord plug may include two conductive prongs extending therefrom for insertion into the electrical power outlet, or it may have a third prong as a ground. The standby receptacle thus has two prong receptacles or three prong receptacles for receipt of the corresponding prongs.

Abstract: A protective covering system for trailer light connectors which will protect the trailer light connectors from exposure to rain, mud, dirt, road grime, and other adverse environmental conditions. The protective covering system is characterized by a body, a cap, and an optional holder. The body has a lower flexible portion with a slit for easily attaching and detaching the trailer light protective coveting system to the trailer, vehicle, or wiring harness such that the protective covering system can be covered by the cap when not in use. This will keep the inside of the protective covering system from being contaminated and allow it to be readily available for protecting the connectors on the trailer.

Abstract: Mobile telephone apparatus comprises a transceiver unit (10) having a handset cradle (12), signal antenna (14) and ports (16-24) for the connection of a handset, external loudspeaker/microphone, power supply etc. A power lead (26) for connecting the power supply port (24) of the apparatus to a cigarette lighter socket is stored when not in use by plugging the cigarette lighter adaptor (36) at one end of the lead (26) into a dummy socket (44) formed in a housing (42) which is detachably connected to the transceiver unit (10). The lead (26) is combined with a carrying strap (28), one end of which is connected to the cigarette lighter adapter and the other end (30) of which is detachably connectable to a retaining slot (32) on the transceiver unit (10).

Abstract: A surgical handpiece holder for use in protecting a surgical handpiece during storage or autoclaving, and providing a template for the storage of excess handpiece wire is disclosed.

Abstract: A plug holder securable to a vehicle for removably receiving the vehicle's electrical pigtail plug when the plug is not in use. The plug holder is provided with a front, a back and two side walls which join together with a floor in order to define a top opening open space in the plug holder into which the plug removably inserts. The front wall is provided with graduated vertical ribs against which the plug wedges as it is inserted into the plug holder as a means of retaining it therein. The floor of the plug holder is provided with moisture releasing openings which allow moisture to escape from the open space.

Abstract: An electrical device is provided with one or more channels in one side, e.g. an end, of the device so that a cord connected to the device can be routed through a channel and not extend past that side of the device. A channel restriction is provided so that the cord cannot be removed from the channel without application of some force. In one preferred form, the case design allows for a power output cable to be positioned at right angle to the power supply. This feature, which is especially useful in tight environments such as behind a desk, is accomplished by incorporating a notch molded into the output end of the device as shown on the figures. In addition, the entire output cable is designed to be wrapped around the power supply during storage with the output plug fitted into the plug storage cavity at the bottom of the power supply which also forms the notch.

Abstract: A holder for securing receptacle plugs of electrical extension cords at selected positions. The holder has a base having an engagement portion extending therefrom to engage the receptacle plug to hold it, and a support engagement portion extending therefrom to engage a selected support structure to become affixed to that structure, or at least temporarily affixed thereto subject to removal.

Abstract: A packaged safety jumper cable comprised of two sets of cables, each set of which is comprised of a ground (negative) wire and a power (positive) wire and terminates at the outer end in clamps adapted to attach to the terminals of a battery. A container sized to hold the cables and clamps has an interior junction plate with electrical attachment points securing the inner ends of the cables. The ground wire and power wire of each set is connected such that in operation current can flow there between. A manual switch carried by the junction plate is interposed between and connects the power wires of the cables. The junction plate and switch are near the top of the container such that the switch is readily accessible. The clamps are suitably marked to indicate whether they are to be attached to the positives or negatives of the battery terminals.

Abstract: A support panel movably mounted on the cabinet of a multi-terminal data pessor, carries retainers releasably holding cable connectors, disconnected from the processor terminals, in an orderly arrangement to protect the connectors from damage and facilitate proper plug in handling.

Abstract: An assembly for remotely handling an electrical plug connector, including a ottom block, including a crane hook attachable to a crane, a first plug member fixed to the bottom block and electrically connectable to a power supply, a second plug member electrically connected to a load, a retaining device retaining the second plug member such that electrical coupling and decoupling between the first and the second plug member can be effected by mere movement of the bottom block in the horizontal and the vertical plane. When the first and second plug members are vertically aligned, coupling and decoupling can be effected by mere lowering and raising of the bottom block. The retaining device has parallel prongs with recessed surface areas to hold the second plug member, alternatively, in a locking position and a withdrawing position. The second plug member has a spherical thickened contour portion acting as a pivot enabling it to swing into alignment with the first plug member.

Abstract: An electric wire take up device or container is which the wires each enter the container through a series of cut-outs in one of its sides. Upstanding pegs on the base of the container serve as wire wrapping posts for each wire. With a sufficient number of pegs, numerous wrapping patterns are available to the user of the device. Upon completing the wrapping of a wire, the male plug at the end of the wire can be inserted into the power outlet strip also located within the container.

Abstract: An electric plug organizer includes a holder which surrounds the periphery of an electric plug for securely retaining the plug in a storage position. The holder is formed from a resilient material and is mounted near an electrical outlet. A longitudinal slot extending through one sidewall of the holder enables the holder to selectively receive a standard size two prong plug, or in the alternative, the holder may be expanded to receive a larger three prong plug. The electric plug organizer may include a receptacle adjacent to the holder for storing electrical cord, and may further include a protective outlet cover for insertion into an exposed electrical outlet when a plug is stored in the holder. The holder may be formed in varying dimensions to accommodate different size plugs, and each unit may include more than a single plug holder.

Abstract: A trailer electrical connector plug storage and protective device includes a sectioned tubular retainer housing containing a spring urged resilient concaval disk. The disk is disposed downward, under the action of the retainer housing spring, biasing the disc against a male electrical plug connector that is seated in the tubular retainer housing. A pivotably fastened protective cover is mounted on the tubular retainer housing such that the male electrical plug is covered and thereby protected from the elements of rain, moisture, or dirt.

Abstract: A power cord and wire shortener in the form of a short cylindrical reel which allows shortening and organizing power cords and wires to an exact, desired length and which can be used with small appliances and the like especially in office workstations and household or industrial worksurfaces.
