  • Patent number: 10840658
Abstract: A dummy ground plug adapter is provided and comprises a base having two parallel, spaced-apart, rectangular slots formed therethrough and a dummy pin extending from a rear surface of the base. The base and dummy pin are formed from an electrically non-conductive material. The size and spacing of the slots and dummy grounding pin conform to the size and spacing of U.S. standard electrical three-prong plugs and outlets, allowing the prongs of a two-prong plug to slip through the slots and be inserted into a three-prong electrical outlet. The presence of the dummy grounding pin provides support and reduces the chance of the plug moving or loosening in the outlet.

  • Patent number: 7976337
Abstract: A method and system for coupling to a palmtop computer that supports both mobile computing and desktop use. A palmtop computer docking system is disclosed that includes a cable assembly and a base. The cable assembly includes a palmtop computer connection mechanism that is connected to a USB connector and that is connected to a power connection mechanism via an electrical cable. Power is provided via the power connection mechanism. The cable assembly is adapted to engage the base so as to produce a fully functional docking cradle. In operation, once the cable assembly is engaged with the base, the USB connector is then coupled to the desired computing device (typically either a portable computer or a full-size computer). The resulting docking cradle facilitates desktop use such as, for example, communication with a full size computer. The cable assembly can be removed from the base and can be used independently of the base for mobile computing.

Abstract: The Low Reflectivity Contact has a low coefficient of light reflection, is rugged with respect to harsh ambient environmental conditions, provides a low resistance electrical connection, and is adapted for use in quick-connect applications. Light reflectivity of the contact is minimized by the use of a conductive mesh that is used to implement the electrical contact. The weave density and wire diameter of the conductive mesh maximizes the attenuation of reflected light in the visible spectrum, yet maintains high electrical conductivity and a lack of sensitivity to contamination via the choice of materials used to implement the Low Reflectivity Contact.
