Supporting Plural, Independent Coupling Parts Patents (Class 439/540.1)
  • Patent number: 10476196
Abstract: An electrical connector is made up of a series of stacked headers. The headers may all be made from similar contact arrays initially held together by carriers, with the contact arrays and the carriers stamped from a single piece of sheet metal. After the stamping a header body is overmolded onto the contacts of a header. For some of the headers the carrier is then separated from all of the contacts, and is removed. For other of the headers the carrier remains secured to some of the contacts, while being separated from other of the contacts. The retained carrier functions to electrically connect together all of the contacts that remain secured to it, for example for use as a common ground. The contacts may have beams or clips, bent portions that are used for receiving spring-loaded pins.

  • Patent number: 10200203
Abstract: A system and approach that may provide power to network switches of controllers in a failsafe manner. For instance, when a controller is receiving normal power, the controller may act as a power over Ethernet (POE) source that supplies power to its connected Ethernet devices as required. However, if power to a controller is lost, then Ethernet devices may switch to a powered device mode and use power from a neighboring device to keep active. Some power may be tapped for network switch operation from any network switch port receiving power from another device. This may allow communication to remain operational across multiple devices in a string of which some have lost a source of normal power.

  • Patent number: 8956183
Abstract: A radially uniform spring-biased intra-pole plug connector and transformer outside the trunk configuration for an electric artificial tree is described. The radially uniform plug comprises a springed-tip and a prong, and allows the tree trunk segments to be connected at any point along their 360 degree circumference. The plug connector resembles the structure of a car cigarette lighter. A mold is used to sandwich the plug within the trunk. A plug portion of the plug connector is housed in one trunk segment, and a receptacle portion is housed in a different trunk segment, such that when the trunk segments are assembled, the plug is connected, illuminating the tree. The plug allows the electrical wiring to be hidden and housed within the trunk, providing safety, convenience to the user and giving the tree a cleaner appearance. The transformer outside the trunk configuration makes the trunk safer, more lightweight and less bulky.
